    Performance-Endurance Hydration and Feeding Strategies

    in Sports

We’ve invited Dr. Allen Lim and Jason Donald to share insights on how, what and when to hydrate, the importance of electrolyte and energy replacement and feeding strategies while training and racing.  Jason was an elite professional cyclist who spent a few years as a member of the Garmin professional cycling team and Dr Lim also served as team physiologist for Garmin before founding SKRATCH LABS an innovative company that produces whole food performance electrolyte replacement and energy products for endurance athletes.  Feeding, hydrating and electrolyte replacement is a critical aspect of performance and these two guys made their bones in international cycling competition where to survive, you have to get it right. No matter what level of competition, be it professional, recreational marathon running, obstacle racing, triathlon or cycling.  This is a great episode to pay close attention to.

  • Ask MomRN Show: Country Music Superstar Toby Keith

    in Family

The Schooner Fall Golf Classic to raise Funds for Country Music star Toby Keith’s OK Korral for pediatric cancer patients took place this past weekend at the Belmar Golf Club in Norman, OK.

Presented by Swingdish, The Schooner Golf Classic included 12 teams of collegiate women golfers who were invited from schools around the county to participate in the tournament and to visit the children at the OK Korral.

The Toby Keith Foundation has been helping children with cancer since 2006 and continues its services through partnerships with hospitals, caregivers, foundations and civic groups.

On Friday night, the ladies attended a Welcome Party at the private home of Toby and his wife Tricia, (who is the designer of the Swingdish apparel, along with daughters, Krystal and Shelley) with performances by “Supersonic Love Club,” karaoke and more. One senior athlete from each school was selected to walk in a runway fashion show to showcase the stylish designs from Swingdish.

I had the fun opportunity to sit down with Toby and his daughter, Krystal Keith, on Friday morning, September 18th to talk about the OK Kids Korral, the benefit golf tournament, and the new Swingdish women's golf apparel line.

We'll also be talking about healthy hydration tips for Fall, how to get your kids to eat healthy this Fall, home decor tips for this Fall season, teen driving safety, eyesight and its impact on learning success, and a new technology to help kids living with diabetes. Today's show is packed full of great guests!

Tune in on Mondays at 1 pm ET for practical advice for raising a happy, healthy family from MomRN and her guests!

I Just Can't Help Myself; I Love Music And Nothing Else!

    in Entertainment

Yep, I did it. I used a lyric line and warped it around. Of course there's more to life than music. I will explain that and so much more. I won't be talking entirely of music, but also my writing, Special Olympics, and me moving - twice this year. Yikes!

Don't forget it. It is Dancing Monday! Yay! So pick up that water bottle and dance to the groovy, random music I will be playing. I honestly want to keep you hydrated; drink lots of water, everyone.
