The Interpersonal Connection ~ “Season of Change”

    in Self Help

Inspiration & Encouragement Let's Talk About It, Then Pray About It "A Life Style Change"

In Memory of Missionary Wyndle "Ms.Winnie" Odem

Jeremiah 29:11(NIV) False, When things change I will be happy. True, When I am happy things will change. . Wish It, Dream It, Do It. Everything has changed nothing stays the same, everyone will change no one, stays the same. The young became the old and mysteries did unfold for that is the way of time no one, and nothing goes unchanged. There are not many things in life one can be sure of except, rain comes from the clouds, sun lights up the sky and hummingbirds do fly. Winter turns to spring, the wounded heart will heal, no one and nothing goes unchanged. Yes, Everything Must Change.

    Inspiration of the Day

“Find something to be happy about every day,
    and every hour,
even if only for a few minutes,
    and if possible moment-to-moment.

“This is the easiest and best protection you can have.”

    Gregg Braden
    author of The Turning Point

    So Now What?

    Life can certainly be overwhelming.

Just a brief look at the headlines in the news can fill us with grief and despair. But it is in these moments that we need to stop and take the time (however brief) to counter the surge of sadness, frustration or anger with thoughts and feelings of happiness.

It is in the feelings of happiness that we clear the mind and solutions can be found. There is always something in your life to be happy and thankful for. It’s not that happiness can’t be found, the happiness is there…it’s just that we often don’t stop to enjoy it.

Take 30 seconds to write down 8 – 10 things you are thankful for right now or that make you happy. I’ll start you off…hot shower, hummingbirds, favorite comedian…now it’s your turn.

And have a great day. You deserve it!!!

Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Multi-talented Vel Lewis!

    in Music

Yes, I had to shout-out Vel Lewis regarding his multiple talents!  Keyboardist, Organist (actually, a multi-instrumentalist), Composer, Arranger, Producer and Vocalist - guess I need not explain further ;)

Our versatile and unstoppable guest was born in The City of Brotherly Love - and it didn't take long in his professional life for other artists to demonstrate how MUCH they DID love Vel Lewis.  While still VERY young, he was asked to join a televised Jazz program in Philadelphia.  This led to studio work - and it paved the way for an association with Ira Tucker, Sr., lead singer with the Dixie Hummingbirds.  Vel found himself on the Paul Simon song, "Love Me Like a Rock" and on Stevie Wonder's "Jesus Children of America."

Meanwhile, Vel was in a group that was growing in popularity - The Futures.  They were signed to Philly International Records and performing alongside Grover Washington Jr., The O'Jays and The Supremes.  The Futures had a name change, but that surely did not affect Vel's popularity - HE was now working with more A-list talent - household names.

Along the way, he found the time to compose music for "The Sopranos", "Fresh Prince of Bel Air", "Mad About You" and more.  And he was able to focus on his own music for the career that he wished to have for VEL LEWIS :)  After all those years of making sure other artists sounded great when he added his personal touch, it was time to concentrate on what he could do as leader of the band.  You'll see his discography when you visit Vel Lewis Dot Com.  And you'll hear tracks from  "Colors Of Soul"  when Vel drops by on 7/8.  Once you hear his music, you'll know that he made a "sound" decision!  Please join us - we've got some surprises in store for you on this show ;)

    in Spirituality

Noelle M. Meade-Izzi is "The Pollinator Queen." Her utter delight and passion for bees, birds, butterflies and bats makes her their leading advocate at a time when mysterious declining hive census, diminishing habitat and various other threats loom large on the horizon. And when our way of living is endangered because these pollinators are essential to our food chain, we face a global natural crisis.

On this show, Noelle will offer advice on:

How to build a hummingbird-friendly backyard habitat
How to prepare your yard as "perfect pollination central" this spring
How best to protect and support what she calls the POWER POLLINATORS---bees, birds, butterflies and bats
How to get children engaged in the preservation and appreciation of the POWER POLLINATORS
How you can become a spiritual pollinator yourself - a bridge between nature and human nature

    Guest: Noelle M. Meade-Izzi

    in Culture

Jim and Jennifer welcome Noelle Meade-Izzi to the show.  Noelle is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, author, speaker, award-winning graphic designer and renowned Natu-journalist. Her book, The Hummingbird That Answered My Heart’s Calling, is a testament to the power of nature and its ability to teach, heal, and re-connect humans to their true human nature.  This gift book is filled with over 40 full-color photographs and a custom designed book cover and interior pages. To her delight, a segment on her experience with Artemis, the hummingbird, was featured in the United States Humane Society (USHS) publication, “All Animals.”  But Noelle’s commitment to nature goes well beyond her work as a Natu-journalist. She is leading a crusade to recognize and protect the four POWER POLLINATORS ---bees, birds, butterflies and bats.  As the Pollinator Queen, she is a special advocate for the pollinators, offering advice on how to build a hummingbird-friendly backyard habitant, ways to “give back” to the bee nation, methods for protecting and supporting these essential creatures that are critical to our food chain.  Noelle’s immediate focus is the bee population which has been decimated by a mysterious die-off not fully identified by scientists. Her goal is to help people see bees for the valued partners they are: harmonious, integrated, unified creatures working tirelessly for the greater good. She unceasingly works to educate as many adults and children as possible, using her company, Beenevolent® as a tool for funding more research; to serve and give back. Noelle perceives the loss of any aspect of nature a spiritual loss as well as a natural one. She spreads her message by Spiritual Pollination.

The Hummingbird That Answered My Heart's Calling

    in Spirituality

Within each of us is the capacity to connect with the Universe, with Nature, and with our Higher Self. Through the eyes of nature, one is made privy to the profound goodness that pervades all that exists and co-exists.

The Universe is ALWAYS listening and responding to our feelings and thoughts (our heart’s calling). Be open to the unique ways in which God, the Universe, The Supreme Intelligence (however we choose to label it) communicates with you…teachers come in all shapes, sizes AND species. We simply need to quiet our incessant mind-chatter and listen, for all sentient beings have something to share in supporting our journey towards becoming a more evolved and self-aware human race.

EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED. The pervasive interconnectedness (the innate giving and receiving) that exists within nature is a lesson for humans to learn—cherish, respect and preserve all life forms, for everything affects everything that in turn affects everything…

Open your eyes to seeing the EXTRAORDINARY within the ORDINARY and open your heart to new ways of appreciating the oh-so-omnipresent Universe that surrounds and bind all that we are.
