The Here and Now Habit by Hugh G. Byrne

    in Relationships

    About the book:

Bad habits can take a hefty toll on your health and happiness. In The Here-and-Now Habit, mindfulness expert Hugh Byrne provides powerful practices based in mindfulness and neuroscience to help you rewire your brain and finally break the habits that are holding you back from a meaningful life.

The Here-and-Now-Habit provides proven-effective techniques to help you stop existing on autopilot and start living in the here and now. You’ll learn how to cultivate mindfulness to calm and focus your mind, be aware of thoughts without identifying with them or believing they are true, deal with difficult emotions, and clarify your own intentions regarding unhealthy habits by asking yourself, What do I want? How important is it to me to make this change?

By learning to pay attention to your thoughts and actions in the moment, you’ll discover how to let go of old patterns and create healthier habits and ways of living that will make you feel good about yourself. And when you feel good about you, you can do just about anything.

The Librarian hosts Marcie Kremer, LIVE

    in Books

Host Tabatha Pope welcomes award-winning romance author Marcie Kremer to THE LIBRARIAN on the Authors on the Air Global Radio Network. Growing up in Europe and seeing castles on a daily basis made Marcie sure she wanted to live back in the Middle Ages. Since that wasn’t likely to happen, being a child of the 20th century, the next best thing she could try to do was to write about this enthralling period in history. Having studied medieval history in college, Marcie loved doing the research about how people really lived and spoke and dreamed and loved, and so TORCH IN THE FOREST came to be, thanks to her dear husband, who encouraged her to write about Eleanor and Hugh. When she’s not writing, Marcie is reading, or traveling. She love hearing from readers and is happy to do book club conference calls or Skyping! You can find out more about Marcie Kremer on her blogsite, or by following her on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Host of "The Librarian", Tabatha Pope, can be found at The Librarian Talks and Facebook. This is a copyrighted and trademarked podcast owned solely by the Authors On the Air Global Network LLC. on the web at authorsontheair.com.

Exploring Hakone Gardens, Chocolate Travel, California Wines and Lansing, MI

    in Travel

At 100+ years old, Hakone Gardens is a National Trust and one of the oldest Japanese estate and gardens in the Western Hemisphere.  In honor of its centennial, Hakone is celebrating its beginning and lasting endurance with multi-year events and activities.  Historian and Hakone Foundation Board Member, Connie Young-Yu, shares the richness and history of this oasis that sits on the edge of Silicon Valley.

We'll examine the emerging trend of chocolate travel with travel writer and Chocolatour publisher, Doreen Pendgracs.

Speaking of wine...California has been a leader in developing and implementing sustainable programs in a number of industries, but most prominently in its winemaking practices.  Allison Jordan with California's Wine Institute takes us on an excursion through the state's famous winegrowing regions and she offers the backstory behind their earth-friendly practices.

Lansing, Michigan has blossomed into a dynamic cultural center and the city has grown far beyond the small plot of land that European explorer Hugh Heward discovered while canoeing down the Grand River in 1790.  Lori Lanspeary from the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau tells us why Lansing, home to Michigan State University, is much more than a college town.

Finally, we'll shine a destination spotlight on the Dominican Republic and Cabo San Lucas from the floor of the Adventure Travel Show in Washington, D.C.
