For this episode of Conversations in the Zone, I have the privilege to chat with Susan Moreno, a contemporary abstract artist based in Atlanta, GA. Susan attended The Art Institute of Chicago and The Atlanta College of Art where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art in 1987. Susan is an award-winning artist whose work has appeared in numerous juried shows including the Decatur Fine Arts Exhibition at The Dalton Gallery at Agnes Scott College. Her collectors include, The Bank of Atlanta, Decatur Arts Alliance, as well as, private collectors in Atlanta and Arizona. Susan grew up in Florida and was around water for much of her formative years. These early memories of water and movement are the foundation for her present work, as she pours paint on canvas and wood. The idea of unrestricted movement and liquidity are her primary concerns. She uses sand and charcoal to add texture and associations of earthiness to her images.
With over 25 years of experience Susan has entertained professionally in the Atlanta area, as well as out of state with caricatures. Over the years Susan has drawn countless caricatures for corporate events such as conventions, trade-shows, employee and customer appreciation, wedding receptions and much more.
Her client list includes Atlanta Magazine, PYA Monarch, Greystone Power, Georgia Power, AT & T, Delta, Coke, Georgia Power, just to name a few. For more information about Susan and the work she loves, visit www.susanmoreno.com, caricaturesbysusan.com or digitalcaricaturesatlanta.com.
November 20, 2014 - LIVING A RICHER LIFE ~ Life Changing Talk Radio
THEME: A Candid Discussion about Religion behind Prison Walls: How does it Work and why does it Matter
Bruce Smith - Retired Car Salesman, Founder of the Christian Car Buying Ministry and a 15-year Member of a Volunteer Outreach Team.
THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:
According to the Prison Fellowship Ministries, which describes itself as a family of Christian ministries dedicated to bringing peace to a broken world through works of grace, acts of justice, and words of truth…here are the numbers:
The United States has less than 5% of the world population, but almost 25% of the world’s prisoners;
Today, approximately 2.3 million inmates are behind bars;
95% of all prisoners are eventually release;
2 out of 3 will reoffend.
Prison Ministry is a larger concept, including the support of the spiritual and religious needs of prison guards and staff, whose work in an often demanding and brutal environment often creates a special need for pastoral care, similar to the care that is extended to the military, police officers and fire fighters. What is religion behind prison walls all about…how does it work…and why does it matter?

FAITH- it's so powerful we ALL have faith in something. It's whatever we believe, as we think so we are. Faith in stuff has a form of power only it only goes so far and then loses steam because it's based on human strength, power and wisdom all of which have a form of power however 0% chance for miracles and the amazing grace of the Living God to flow through and bless you.
So this morning I am going to share how Faith in Jesus has transformed my life radically and how the daily miracles are an expectation and He comes through every day. I want to share with you simple steps you can take to activate the faith in Christ in your life and then you can receive what you have asked for and what you believe the Lord for and we will also talk about spiritual warfare and gaining daily victory in Jesus name there as well.
Synchronicity is an interesting topic. Few present their understandings from an experiential unified awareness in their consciousness which recognizes how it works on all levels within consciousness in an integral way.
Thus, synchronicity is appropriately understood as a manifesting sign indicating how all life, and the Other Side of Life-Spirit reality, are a single tapestry that is being continually woven from the Other Side of Life by choices made on the life side. Wow, yes?!
Coincidence belies the TRUE nature and laws of universal Oneness. Coincidence is a belief in the dynamics of randomness; it is rooted in thinking separation itself is the controlling structure of reality. Yet, is the correct?
It points our outer attention toward causal factors, accountability, and response-ability sparking our recognition into igniting a humble response honoring what is presenting itself at any given moment for our choice.
To demean this wonderful mechanism of Oneness to merely mind control by an ego mind useful for manipulating outcomes (greater good or selfish), or to dilute synchronicity to the impotent concept of being merely a coincidence, is to miss the point that matters: We are Creator Beings and everything we do and think and say matters. Our power is a gift and response-abilty.
Synchronicity highlights a valuable angle of perception upon our dignity to pay attention and be appropriately responsive in life endeavors.
I decided to replace tonight's schedule show with this discussion on Ferguson. Once again, the country is divided by the court. People are mad in some areas of the country while other people are relived. In the end, a story that has repeated itself for decades comes to the usual conclusion: a black man dies at the hands of a white cop.
Now, I'm not saying who is innocent or who is different in all of this. Because contrary to what people believe this case is nothing like the Trayvon Martin / George Zimmerman fiasco. People need to be able to see these cases for what they are and examine all evidence.
Tonight, I'm going to do something a little different: I'm not going to have prepared questions to throw out to my Show Legends like I normally do. I'm not going to be quick to "push the buzzer" on someone who may be long-winded as long as they're making their point. Tonight will be an open forum to discuss what happens now.

When it comes to treatment for drug addiction, it might seem counterproductive to attempt to force someone to go to rehab. In fact, in some cases this can lead to further complication of the issue as an addict may retreat and isolate if they feel threatened or coerced. However, because of the high association between substance abuse and crime, many drug users and alcoholics find themselves the focus of criminal court cases. Judges may require that a convicted drug offender attend a substance abuse rehab program, as part of their sentencing. Unfortunately, experts in the field of addiction disagree about the effectiveness of compulsory programs. Examining their efficacy is critical to developing a more comprehensive understanding of how treatment for addiction works.
Those who oppose the imposition of mandatory drug rehab programs generally cite “choice” as the most significant factor in whether a treatment program will be effective or not. These people argue that because drug use and the behaviors associated with it are a choice, that addicts must therefore choose to get treatment on their own volition. In an article on mandatory drug treatment, J.D. Tuccille writes;
“Treatment might be offered to criminals in the same way as other medical and educational services are offered, as a means of maintaining or improving their health and changing their circumstances. But pursuing drug treatment would have to be the choice of the criminal who is responsible for his or her own actions in all circumstances. Join me as we discuss this contriversial issue which has many debating which way to vote. Tonite 9pm
