    Freshly Booked w/ Leslie Hachtel

    in Books

Remember your first time? We do! Join us as we interview authors just beginning their literary journey into publication. It doesn't matter how their book is published; self-publication, independent, or traditional publishing house, the world agrees becoming a published author is a big step. We want to celebrate and spotlight these authors whose words were brought into the hands of readers. Listen in as they talk about their new experiences. Being published is an intoxicating dream…a dream these authors are living. Join us in jubilation for those who are . . . Freshly Booked!

This week’s Featured Author is . . . Leslie Hachtel

Leslie Hachtel was born in Ohio, raised in New York and has been a gypsy most of her adult life.  Her various jobs, including licensed veterinary technician, caterer, horseback riding instructor for the disabled and advertising media buyer have given her a wealth of experiences. However, it has been writing that has consistently been her passion. She sold an episode of a TV show, had a screenplay optioned and has so far produced five novels, including three historicals. Leslie lives in Memphis, Tennessee with a fabulously supportive engineer husband, a wonderful stepson, Matt and her writing buddy, Jakita, a terrier.

Beagle Freedom Project: Shannon Keith on The Authentic Woman w/ Shannon Fisher

    in Pets

The Authentic Woman Host, Shannon Fisher, is excited to welcome her guest this week: Shannon Keith, President and Founder of the Beagle Freedom Project (BFP). Keith's organization fights for animal rights on many levels, from fighting for legislation requiring humane treatment of laboratory animals to physically rescuing beagles used in laboratory testing and helping them assimilate into life outside of the lab - and ultimately finding them loving homes.

Beagles are the most popular breed for lab use because of their friendly, docile, trusting, forgiving, people-pleasing personalities. Most beagles used in experiments have never seen grass, the sun, or anything outside the walls of a laboratory. They have received little or no affection & are often afraid of people. Beagle Freedom Project is doing some amazing work in bringing joy & love to these animals.

The Authentic Woman is a weekly radio show hosted by women's rights leader, Shannon Fisher, offering perspectives on the female experience in America. The show delves deeply into the worlds of writers, artists, celebrities, and community leaders. Shannon Fisher on the web: Facebook - Twitter -  Links to Previous Episodes of The Authentic Woman. SOAD Radio Show with Special Guest Walt Realer

    in Entrepreneur

    Walt Realer Story

I graduated from Academy Park HS in Sharon Hill. I attended Virginia Stat Univ and Delaware County Community College. I held a number of jobs working for the post office, ups, iron mountain before getting a job with General Electric back in 1992. I worked there for almost 11 years before the plant was closed. During that time in 1996 my mother started the cleaning service. I worked for the company part time just to help out and make a few extra bucks. When my plant closed in August of 2002 I went home and talked to my wife about layoffs and working for someone else. I told her I was thinking of working the business full time. She said she had my back. I spoke to my mother and took on the day to day responsibilities of working the business. I've had a number of clients over years. Iron Mountain being the first. Then came First African Baptist Church in Sharon Hill. Neighbor to Neighbor also in Sharon Hill. Both of which are still clients today. St Paul's Baptist Church, Edward Jones in Springfield. I ran successful campaigns with living social and groupon. Done a lot of residential and commercial work as well. Our services range from carpet cleaning, general cleaning, janitorial service, wood floor restoration, stripping and waxing of tile floors and power washing. We've also done some auto detailing and snow removal from time to time. I was a member of the rotary club of eastwick pa. I coached little league football for the Christopher Arnold Athletic Association
