April 3, 2014 - LIVING A RICHER LIFE: with Tiny Stallings-Clark, Celebrated Poet, Motivational Speaker and Author of “I Choose to Live”
THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE: As a result of your hopelessness, you don't see your friends, you isolate yourself, you don't exercise and you don't try anything new. All of this just adds to your depression and hopelessness. You spiral down in a whirlpool of sadness. If you're hopeless, you're bound to have thoughts like: "It's hopeless, so it would be a waste of time to try." Because of such thoughts, you don't do anything and you remain hopeless. Because we are what we think, this further confirms that you're right. Your hopelessness becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. How can we overcome our feelings of hopelessness?
Tiny Stallings-Clark is a celebrated poet and a spirit oriented motivational speaker She is a graduate of Tennessee State University and works professionally as a Civil Engineer. Tiny has spoken at many venues around the country, including Women For Incarcerated Women, The Women Unlimited Association, Churches and various Writer's Conferences. Good Deeds presents Dr. Rebera Foston. Dr. Foston help the younger generation who are spiritually disenfranchised in America. Speaking with younger adults and youth to help them spiritually is DrFoston main objective. Author of many books including her acclaimed poetry, Dr. Rebera is guiding the younger generation to a better adulthood. The problem is that adolescence is too crowded! It is filled with children who have been catapulted there and deprived of their childhood. It is also filled with adults who never left adolescence because they never healed from a childhood trauma. It is also filled with the young people who are supposed to be there, but they are being crowded out by the other two groups. Because so many young people are crowded out of their own developmental space, many have developed an “Addiction to hopelessness.” Adolescence is already turbulent enough without the added pressures of this unique addiction.
Dr. Rebera believes that each adolescent has at least one unique gift that needs to be nurtured as the focal point towards his or her journey to adulthood. If young people are not assisted in finding their gifts, their “addiction to hopelessness” worsens. Many cannot find or nurture this gift alone. They must be mentored holistically. In their advertising, traditional mentoring programs use the slogan that “anyone can be a mentor.” We do not believe that this is true. If an adult is not whole or at least on their way to wholeness, they may actually harm the teen they are supposed to be trying to help. Learn more at www.fostoninstitute.com
There are so many people all around us whose hopes have been shattered. Perhaps it has been one too many incidents that have taken place in their lives and there has literally been NO time to recover from any one of them. Old folks would say "when it rains, it pours". Sometimes people are smiling to keep from crying. Hope for some people are liken unto a dirty glass; they can't see anything other than the dirty residue on the glass. Hope during the holidays are sometimes excruciatingly painful for some. I wonder how many people we walk around, work around, speak to or encounter in some way that are at the brink of hopelessness. They don't see a way out. My heart goes out to people especially during the holiday season. The holidays are usually painted pictures of family and friends; love and laughter; food and fun. However, for many people is such a time of despair and depression. Some people actually dread the holidays especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some people get the holiday blues for whatever the reason. Some people are not in close family relationships and may be estranged. Here's the good news, we have a universal charge to spread love and give hope to those who are hopeless during Christmas times.
We are sharing ways to give hope during the holiday season! Join in on the discussion and let us know how you plan to give hope during the Christmas holiday season! The call-in # is 646-716-7079. I'd like to hear from you!

Praying the Apostle Paul's prayer and getting results. We will also look at the prayers of many others who prayed and receive results.
Join us as we study the prayers of Paul, Jesus and others in the bible and learn to use their words as a model for your own prayers. We will personalize them for ourselves and for others and pray them for amazing results. We will also look at the prayers of King David in the book of Psalms. Andrew Murray says " True prayer, that takes hold of God's strength, that availeth much, to which the gates of heaven are really opened wide-who would not cry, 'Oh, for someone to teach me thus to pray'?" He concludes, "Jesus has opened a school, in which He trains His redeemed ones, who specially desire it, to have power in prayer." Prepare to take your prayer life to the next level as we pray the word of God. Your prayer life will be transformed. Tell a friend and join us for the discussion on prayer.
