Older relationships in need of a fresh spark, find a vacation just the thing to hit the nail on the head, or nail it - in bed.
The after effects of getting the bill for an off-budget, debt-financed excursion, can take a bit away from the memory, when you feel miserable about paying for it later.

Vacations, how often, how many stars, destination, experiences; (or the lack of), are a major lifestyle statement.
On this side of the recession, in my work with helping folks achieve debt-free wealth, I come across many who switched from wanton wastefulness, to deep depravity - excluding vacations, in an attempt to restore financial stability. While the reason is noble, the process is not fun, and makes work more miserable. We should work to live, not live to work.
