Green Bay Packers report card 2015 - Linebackers

    in Sports

The Green Bay Packers had a defense that allowed some yards but found a way to create turnovers and keep opponents out of the end zone. Unfortunately, this Packers defense will be remembered for the breakdown in overtime against Arizona, in the NFC Divisional playoff round. That breakdown led to a first and goal and eventual touchdown by Larry Fitzgerald.

Statistically, the Packers finished 15th in total yards and 12th in points allowed. Julius Peppers found enough gas to have another productive year leading the Packers with 10.5 sacks. As a unit, the Packers tied for seventh in sacks with 43. Clay Matthews was asked to man the middle of the defensive, and still produced 6.5 sacks. Middle linebacker became and issue once again when Sam Barrington went down with injury. Jake Ryan, a fourth round pick, worked his way into the starting lineup.

WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

"Asa Philip Randolph was about ten when a group of solemn, angry men arrived at his Jacksonville, Florida, home one afternoon. They wanted to see his father, Reverend James William Randolph.  The reverend gathered the men in the family's sparse living room, and they told him what had happened.
A black man had been locked up in the Duval County jail and angry white men were muttering about hanging him without a trial.  Such hangings,  known as lynchings, were terribly familiar to black people, particularly in the South.  But the city of Jacksonville had a tradition of African American pride; the black men gathered in Randolph house were not willing to tolerate lynching.  Guns packed, they were prepared to encircle the jail and greet the white mob with force. They wanted the reverend to join them.
The Randolph's kept two guns in the house, a Bulldog pistol and a shotgun. James Randolph handed his wife the shotgun, took the Bulldog for himself and headed for the Jail. Elizabeth Randolph, a dead shot, kept the gun cradled across her lap for the rest of the night.  The Reverend returned home at dawn, exhausted but relieved.  When the lynch mob was confronted with the jail's armed defenders they wisely backed down."  A. PHILIP RANDOLPH and the AFRICAN AMERICAN LABOR MOVEMENT by Calvin Craig Miller.

    Bluntly Speaking: Fantasy is reality

    in Entertainment

Take a few and look this song up

    Parliament
    Fantasy is Reality

Fantasy is reality in the world today

But I'll keep hanging in there

    That is the only way

Recollections about what granddaddy used to say

    Keeps me hanging in there

    That is the only way

My mind is mine and mine my mind will always stay

No way of life, no man-made laws gonna take it away

I’ve seen the light, I’ve taste the blood of his soul

It tells me to come on home, and it tells me to carry on

Fantasy is reality in the world today

But I’ll keep hanging in there

    That is the only way

Recollections about what granddaddy used to say

    Keeps me hanging in there

    That is the only way

I’m free because I’m free of the need to be free

I’m free because the Light is watching over me

And it's Divine, it will forever protect me

Shadowing me well from all harm, so that I can carry on

Insanity is normality in this time and day

And I’ll keep on hanging in there

    That is the only way

Recollections about what granddaddy used to say

    Keeps me hanging in there

    That is the only way

My mind is mine and mine my mind will always stay

No way of life, no man-made laws gonna take it away

I’ve seen the Light, I’ve taste the blood of his soul

It tells me to come on home, and it tells me to carry on

Fantasy is reality in the world today

But I'll keep hanging in there

    That is the only way

Recollections about what granddaddy used to say

    Keeps me hanging in there

    That is the only way

Insanity is normality in this time and day

You got to keep a hanging in there

    That is the only way

    Super Duper Bowl L

    in Football

After all of the hype and hoopla dies down in Cali, Jay and Dre are here to get into the meat and potatoes of the actual Big Game.  Peyton Manning's HGH chicken parm, Cam Newton's racial politics and polarizing personality, Peyton's possible last game, Josh Norman and Carolina's edgy and possibly dirty defense--put all the storylines aside.  It comes down to the AFC champion Broncos versus the favored NFC champion Panthers.  Though Dre has already clinched the picks title, the boys will break down the 50th annual Super Bowl and cut through the BS In Much Less Detail to decide: Denver or Carolina...WHO YA GOT???

Interview with Dr. Edgar Mitchell on America Meditating Radio w/ Sister Jenna

    in Self Help

Paying Tribute to Dr. Edgar Mitchell.

On January 31, 1971, Navy Captain Dr. Edgar Mitchell embarked on a journey into outer space that resulted in becoming the sixth man to walk on the moon.  This historic journey ended safely nine days later. It was an audacious time in the history of mankind. For Dr. Mitchell, however, the most extraordinary journey was yet to come. Traveling back to Earth, having just walked on the moon, Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell had an experience for which nothing in his life had prepared him. As he approached the planet we know as home, he was filled with an inner conviction as certain as any mathematical equation he'd ever solved. He knew that the beautiful blue world to which he was returning is part of a living system, harmonious and whole—and that we all participate, as he expressed it later, "in a universe of consciousness."  Within two years of his expedition, Dr. Mitchell founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences in 1973 and he serves on the board of directors of the Institute.

Watch the Institute of Noetic Sciences video on “Consciousness Matters:  the Mysteries of Inner Space.”  Featuring Dr. Edgar Mitchell, Deepak Chopra, Marilyn Schlitz, Dean Radin and Cassandra Vieten.

    in Lifestyle

Marcus Y. Rosier is an author, transformational speaker, life coach and author coach. He gives information and inspiration; to wake each person up to the possibilities and potential of their lives. Once awake he gives his audience practical strategy and step-by-step implementation to win in every area of their life.

Marcus has a unique story that has afforded him a variety of diverse life experiences. He graduated at the tender age of 16 years old, and by the age of 19 he purchased his first home. He was also part owner of a real estate investment company and Founder & CEO of two companies of his own. In addition, he was the Founder & CEO of a non-profit organization for at-risk youth ages 13-18.

After years of success Marcus found himself having to fight the declining housing market and economic recession. His life and businesses quickly changed, and he was forced to start all over and embrace the process of rebuilding his life. It was then that Marcus set out on a journey to discover who he was outside of the status and material things he acquired, and to redefine his concept of success. During this process, that Marcus discovered and developed the concept and life practice that changed his life. This practice he titled, “WIN THE DAY.” This concept is to make every hour of the day worth $100 and make the entire day worth $2,400. His life practice was, and is, to invest a minimum of $240 (2 hours and 40 minutes) into his talent, personal growth, and character development, each and everyday. It was the concept of “WIN THE DAY” that helped him to redefine and reclaim true success.
