The Eagles jumped back into the win column last week, and their 5-3 record has them on the cusp of bowl eligibility for the second straight year.
It's onto Virginia Tech.
On Saturday, a very dangerous and possibly desperate Hokies team will host the Eagles in a rivalry that's bordered on bitter through their recent history. It was during last season when we realized how good BC could be in a victory at home against this team. Now BC has a chance to claim bowl eligibility against its longtime rival.
There's much to love about this matchup. Both teams have played very well, but both teams are flawed and have lost games they probably could have or should have won. The Hokies are trying to avoid losing a third straight game and a second consecutive game at home, all while playing in the wide open ACC Coastal Division.

The hottest topics in sports are all about football. College football concluded its opening weekend, and outside of the "cupcake" games, there were a few games that were interesting. Ohio State took care of business downing Virginia Tech 42-14. Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett both played, at quarterback. Urban Meyer said that this is something that he will continue to do. This was a game until Virginia Tech lost starting quarterback, Michael Brewer. He broke his collarbone, and early indicatiions are that he will need surgery. The Hokies led 17-14, at halftime. However, the second half belonged to the defending national champs.
The NFL is getting ready to kick off. The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to New England, on Thursday night. However, the excitment of the first game is being overshadowed by "Deflate Gate" and "Spy Gate." The perecpetion of Roger Goodell is being tarnished as new information came out about "Spy Gate." However, the evidence from that was destroyed, by the NFL offices.
Matt Chatham and Brady Quinn continue their college football preview series of Power 5 conferences by headiing out to the ACC. Florida State has owned the conference in recent years, with most discussions centering on whether or not the strength of the conference was enough to keep FSU on top while staying undefeated.
The guys start by discussing this year's big Boston College vs Notre Dame game to be played November 21st at Fenway Park, and how cool games in historic venues can positiviely affect players and recruiting.
2015 figures to be a much more competitive affair at the top of the conference as question marks abound - specifically from a collection of close-but-not-quite-there programs like Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Virginia Tech looking to climb to the top of the heap as Florida State reloads. The guys get into the keys to winning the conference, some sleeper schools to keep an eye on, and a discussion of the year ahead for some of the conference's best players.
The start of the 2015 college football season is right around the corner as the quest is on for the College Football Playoff. Last year was proof that winning your conference alone won't be enough as the Big 12 Conference was left out of the College Football Playoff. Who are the real contenders to make the College Football Playoff this year? Can the Ohio State Buckeyes repeat as national champions? Who will be in the running to win the Heisman Trophy? Be sure to check out the 300lbsofsportsknowledge Show as I will be breaking down the upcoming college football season.
John and Dan are almost at the finish line for this summer's ACC football previews, talking about Virginia Tech today, plus beer.
