With the release of the next Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees, the Timmons Brothers reveal a list of names that could be labeled a Who’s Who in Rock ‘n’ Roll and all the artists share a common bond of not being inducted into its Hall of Fame. Although the number of artists not inducted is too numerous to give them their due in one show, the two rock historians (David and John) will explore voting patterns, possible biases (and some may be surprising), the philosophy of defining a Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, and other music related hall of fames. The artists being ignored span four decades and include Paul Anka, Connie Francis, the Moody Blues, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Chicago, Grand Funk Railroad , Jethro Tull, ELO, Kool and the Gang, and you are encouraged to call in with others. While the topic stirs debate, this program will be a catalyst to continue the discussion.
The Code of Hammurabi was written by King Hammurabi, who began ruling the Babylonian Empire in about 1800 BC. Hammurabi came to power using his strengths as a military leader, conquering many smaller city-states to create his Empire. Hammurabi believed that the gods appointed him to bring justice and order to his people, and he took this duty very seriously. Not long after his ascent to power, he created his Code, 282 laws written to define all relationships and aspects of life in the kingdom. The laws were displayed in a public place so that all the people could have the opportunity to study them. The laws applied to everyone, though application of the laws and punishment differed according to social class. The punishments for disobeying the laws were swift and harsh, further encouraging compliance. The form of the Code of Hammurabi is significant in the way that it is written. The simple language used to write the Code allowed the average member of Babylonian society to understand the expectations placed on them. Each of 282 laws was written separately with specific examples of indiscretions that were illegal, and the precise form of punishment that would occur. Europeans are some of the most violent people that ever walked the planet. Europe’s historians say that warlords battled fiercely over territory, ethnic supremacy and power during Europe’s middle ages. As gory battles raged on, torrents of human blood saturated lands and streamed into rivers. “Life was not worth much,” their historians tell us.
In more recent times, Europe’s children - the so-called white Americans - burned black towns to the ground, murdering innocent black residents. Coolly, they tortured and then dangled lifeless black bodies from trees, carrying away penises and fingers as trophies. Currently, we witness the blood of black children, women and men puddling rural and city streets of America. It’s not surprising that Europe’s children repeat the cruel blood rituals of their parents. What’s surprising is that so few of us have connected the dots.
If we are casual readers of history, we probably don’t know how vicious and bloody Europe’s story is. We don’t realize just how many medieval European laws and customs are practiced today. We can’t connect the dots from the past to the present. In fact, we don’t know that the past is present.
Sheshet Kemet, author of the new book Medieval Upheaval, A Catalogue of Bloody European Evils, discusses Europe’s bloody history. She says murderous medieval madness stains European DNA and fuels the violent actions of their white children in America today.
However much their myths are used to harm black people, their truth will set us free. Let’s go in. Sunday, October 25. 1030p. Black African Power.

Though many view Gennady Golovkin's middleweight unification bout against David Lemieux as a mismatch, the fight is still compelling because it features two hard-hitting fighters and all but guarantees a knockout either way. But in addition to its raw appeal, the fight happens in a division with a lot of history behind it.
Boxing history just happens to be our thing.
Usual hosts/boxing historians Aris Pina of Compubox and The Fight City's Patrick Connor will be joined by Lee Groves, boxing historian, author and contributor to The Ring magazine and RingTV. And the topic this week, in honor of Golovkin-Lemieux, is the greatest middleweight battles of all time, and the greatest middleweight punchers of all time.

Crazy Horse was born on the Republican River about 1845. He was killed at Fort Robinson, Nebraska, in 1877, so that he lived barely thirty-three years.
He was an uncommonly handsome man. While not the equal of Gall in magnificence and imposing stature, he was physically perfect, an Apollo in symmetry. Furthermore he was a true type of Indian refinement and grace. He was modest and courteous as Chief Joseph; the difference is that he was a born warrior, while Joseph was not. However, he was a gentle warrior, a true brave, who stood for the highest ideal of the Sioux [Lakota.] Notwithstanding all that biased historians have said of him, it is only fair to judge a man by the estimate of his own people rather than that of his enemies.
Christianity. Where did it come from? Who wrote the books of the Bible? Is there any evidence for a god or man named Jesus? Why has Christianity remained so popular over the ages?
This podcast features two interviews, conducted by Seth Andrews, with historians and researchers who speak about the origins the New Testament Gospels, the ever-changing face of Christianity, history versus myth, and the Jesus story
In separate interviews, David Fitzgerald and Dr. Robert Carrier each tackle the Bible and its deity.
