A Special SHARETALK EPISODE:
With a deep passion for helping married couples to become healthier and develop spiritually,
Pastor Larry and Pastor Teresa Burton will use the Word of God, Godly wisdom and life
experiences to empower and teach couples how to endure the storms as a team.
All too often, marriages become damaged in the storms of life—a job loss, the loss of a loved
one, parenting a problem child, infidelity, mishandled finances, etc. When couples are exposed
to the heavy winds of difficult circumstances, all the cracks in the foundation of their relationship
are exposed. For many, a crisis is a fast track to divorce.
If you don’t know now, please know storms will come and as married couples we will at times
hurt one another and/or disappoint each other; but it’s how we handle the storms that
determines our outcome.
We would like to provide you with 6 basic steps to endure any storms that way come your way.
1. The Storm
2. The Process
3. The Recovery
The entire premise of our show is based upon where all are now after the train wreck of Katrina...10 years ago. Many have experienced the miracles of destiny....bringing them to new spaces not even imagined before the storm. Lives have changed...Circumstances have changed and, in the end, we are faced with a different world to which we may have gained comfort within...only to be torn asunder by the game-changer: Hurricane Katrina!
Life hits us with circumstances that sometimes seem insurmountable. When a catastrophe, like Hurricane Katrina, comes and inserts herself into the very essence of our being responding to such is naturally traumatic and devastating. However, in the end, at least from my experience, all things happen for a reason....and the divinity that has created us as human beings allows us opportunities for growth through such times.
This radio blog show has always been mostly about the good stuff that has changed human lives as a result of the storm. Tonight, we will talk about how calamity in our lives can transform us to heights that, perhaps, we never would have imagined otherwise.
Lura Lisa, a spiritual leader for Unity Association of Churches will join us this evening to give her perspective on the storm as well as to provide inspirational guidance to those folks who have suffered turmoil, PTSD, or other negatives associated with the storm.
This show will be inspirational to all who have experienced the wrath of Hurricane Katrina.....whether for better and/or worse. Or frankly the upsets that ocurr in human lives...It doesn't have to be a storm...We all have things that happen outside of ourselves that impact us...Let look at this wit open eyes and open hearts...
Wishing all well...and bidding you Namaste in your lives...

Some Nautical Tales covers the adventures and experiences of Captain Wilbur H. Vantine, as he worked his way up from Ordinary Seaman and sailed as Ship Master on tramo freighters in the United States Merchant Marine. Along the way he was able to “see the world” at a very interesting time in world affairs. During WWII, he served on two ships in the war zones of the southwest Pacific and on another in the North Atlantic to the United Kingdom. He obtained his first command in 1951 at age twenty-six. While sailing as Ship Master, he did difficult navigation among icebergs in the far north; had his ship breaking up and losing three of its four lifeboats in a “super” storm, was confined with his crew on a Liberty ship, in ballast, during a winter-time crossing of the North Atlantic, with a killer virus on board, sailed to Korea before, during and after the Korean War, took action to minimize damage from an un-avoidable collision and directed actions to separate the two ships which were connected by their anchor chains, made an ocean crossing with growing cracks in the main deck threatening to cause his ship to break-up, steamed transpacific with a cargo of coal undergoing spontaneous combustion, had his ship to boarded and crew attacked by a large and angry mob in Yugoslavia, had a shifting cargo of army tanks threatening to knock out the sides of his ship during a storm, and had unique interaction with both ship and shore personalities. Based on actual experiences. The numerous photographs were taken by the author, except where noted otherwise.
