Tune in tonight at 8:30 p.m. to The Ron and Don Show to hear the full story on how a staff member at KMOJ-FM swindled $200.00 from a political candidate with promises of contacted local party leaders and running political ads on KMOJ, which is illegal. To listen to the program, click here.
Jack Shepherd is running for Minnesota senate as an Independence candidate. He is concerned about how members of the minority community are being marginalized and excluded from a fair playing field of economic stimulus.
Shepard says, “Blacks in Minnesota's Hennepin County are 9.1 times more likely to be convicted for marijuana possession than Whites. The long-term collateral costs escalate significantly. Such disparities strip black community wealth and exacerbate equity gaps for individuals and neighborhoods in communities of color. “
Shepard wanted to send a message to the black community of the Twin Cities and called radio station KMOJ-FM. Join us for this and more...

Recovery Radio Fresno with Louis Angel presents Herb Winnett with Turning Points Quest house.
Herb writes "I am a Certified Addiction Specialist and have been working in the field for 23 years. I started out in the field at CAP, where I stayed for over 8 years and was the Senior Counselor in charge of the short term residential program. I then left to work for Turning Point Substance Abuse Treatment Unit, which was a 50 bed facility where men with parole violations could go in lieu of returning to prison. I stayed there for 3 years until the program closed due to state funding cuts. I was then placed at Turning Points Transitional Living Center (TLC) as Case Manager for their 30 bed coed Sober Living- Out Patient facility. I stayed there for 6 years and was then given an opportunity to become a Program Director at Turning Points Quest House. That was in 2008 and I'm still currently employed there. The Quest House is a 30 bed coed, structured, residential treatment facility for Substance Abuse and other co-occurring disorders. I like to think of the Quest House as a true recovery home with social model and therapeutic community aspects. It has a homey, family type atmosphere where everyone works together for the common goal of changing negative lifestyles into positive lifestyles. Our groups consist of drug education, relapse prevention, parenting, life skills, health education, self help support groups, anger management, women’s issues, men’s issues, process groups, breaking barriers, gardening and dog fostering. The Quest House and Turning Point are strong supporters of Sober Stock annually. The residents from the Quest House volunteer to help out during the entire event. The Quest House is always in charge of security and helping others set up for Sober Stock. Their address is 2731 W. Olive Fresno CA. 93728, or 559-233-5099
Coming to you live from Costa Rica and brought to you by the La Reserva Forest Foundation (LRFF). We invite you to participate in this most interesting and interactive show by calling in or participating in the "green" chat room. LRFF is working to solve climate change and lost resources by restoring the tropical forests in the "lungs of the world".
Climate change is our continuing topic. It's being caused by human activity not volcanoes, solar activity or a universal conspiracy. This is a platform for everyone to tell us your views on cc, ask questions about this most important issue. The majority of people are very uninformed about cc because it has become unmentionable in the mainstream media. Talking about it is the first step to solving it.
As always great roots and culture music plus interesting Caribbean news and events.
