Host Deardra Shuler talks with Henry Simmons who is appearing in the movie FROM THE ROUGH starring academy award nominee Taraji Henson and Michael Clark Duncan. From the Rough opens in theaters on Friday, April 25, and tells the true story of Catana Starks, a female Tennessee State men’s golf coach who overcame incredible odds and deep-seated prejudice to become “the first African-American woman ever to coach an all-men’s team.
Born in Stamford, Ct, the son of Aurelia and Henry Simmons, Sr. Henry is one of three children. Simmons earned a basketball scholarship to Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire. He earned a business degree and later took a job in finacial management. It didn't last because Simmons was attracted to acting.
Simmons' first acting gig as a hot-headed youth was in a movie with Tupac Shakur called "Above the Rim." He appeared in movies and TV, most notably Detective Baldwin Jones on the ABC police drama “NYPD Blue.” He also played Queen Latifah's boyfriend in the 2004 action/comedy film Taxi. He had a leading role in a CBS legal drama "Shark" which starred James Woods. Simmons also appeared in World's Greatest Dad. He recently starred in "Man Up!" Upcoming projects include From the Rough" and "No Good Deed," starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson.
Simmons stars in "From the Rough" as Kendrick Paulsen, Jr., the school’s tough-minded athletic director, who “represents the ultimate obstacle to (Henson’s) character and her success because he does not think Starks is qualified to coach a men’s team and that creates a huge conflict.

Sheri Koones, author of Prefabulous Homes, will discuss her latest book that was released April 15th. This book not only shows new and beautiful home design styles but alternative ways to save energy and harness renewable energy. 50 beautiful homes are profiled in the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Australia and many other locations. We can all benefit by sharing technology developed around the world.
Prefabulous + Almost Off the Grid and Prefabulous + Sustainable, profile beautiful eco-built homes. I hope they will inspire you to want to build your own very sustainable home. These books profile the most efficient houses I have ever come across. My previous two books - Prefabulous and Modular Mansions were meant to change people’s perceptions of prefab as “doublewides” and to show that almost any house can be built prefab. I hope that I’ve altered peoples perceptions of prefab, at least a little, with the beautiful houses included in these books. Prefabulous + Sustainable and Prefabulous + Amost Off the Grid are meant to inspire homeowners to consider more environmentally friendly options for their home. Whether they are building a new home or renovating their existing one, these books define a variety of green construction aspects and offer inexpensive alternatives to creating a healthier, more energy efficient house - that is gentler to the environment.

William Henry Hartnell (8 January 1908 – 23 April 1975) was an English actor. Hartnell played the first incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who, from 1963 to 1966. Although Hartnell claimed that he did not willingly give up the part of the Doctor, conflicts with a new production team and ill health lead to his departure from the series. Hartnell made theatre and television appearances for the remainder of his career. Despite failing health, he reprised the role of the Doctor for the 1973 10th Anniversary television film, ‘The Three Doctors,' although most of his part was made with the help of cue cards and he appeared only in pre-filmed inserts. Hartnell's health grew progressively worse and in December 1974 he was admitted to hospital permanently. In early 1975 he suffered a series of stokes and died in his sleep. He is buried at Kent and Sussex Cemetery and Crematorium in Kent, England.
