The drop zone is a dreaded area for most every mom and designer. How do we deal with it? Join us.
Enter kitchen. Drop keys.
Enter kitchen. Drop papers from school.
Enter kitchen. Drop lunchbox.
Enter kitchen. Stare at items that should be somewhere else.
Yes, the last person is anti-drop zone.
Why has the kitchen counter become a drop zone for anything and everything that enters the house. Mail, packages, homework, keys, wallets, sun glasses, coffee cups. It's all there. And it would be easy to learn everything you might want to know about a family from what is inside that drop zone.
But what can we do about it? Should we eliminate it? Or embrace the drop zone?
We're talking with kitchen and design experts-- Stacy Garcia and Lisa Smith, from the weekly Twitter chat #KBTribeChat about the drop zone.
Join us on Tuesday, August 26th at 1pmET to share your thoughts as we discuss the kitchen drop zone live on YouTube and G+ on-air hangout. Post a comment below or share with us during the chat. We'd love to know what you think.

The Myth of the Yellow Kitchen
Rhoada believed in the myth of the yellow kitchen for a very long time. Yellow is the color of happiness, cheerfulness, the color of life and sunshine and she optimistically painted her first kitchen a bright, canary yellow.
But yellow can fade so quickly. Although Rhoada and her husband were doing all the things they had dreamed of; having children, building careers, developing wonderful friendships, and watching their children grow, it wasn’t enough. The divorce, such a tragedy at the time, changed her life and a new strength emerged. She found the force to get a doctorate when she had no money and three young children, the passion to forge a creative career in higher education, and the power to enjoy the magic and mystery of life. This book will inspire beyond the walls of the kitchen to explore what is possible. Listen in as she tells you about her book and her motivations.
