SISFI launches new series “Healthy Workplace & Workplace Abuse/Violence Awareness” on SISFI Radio to bring more focus, attention, awareness to the issues.
Workplace Abuse/Violence is a very serious and sometimes hidden threat that affects people on physical and mental levels. It manifests into social and mental health impacts that are sometimes not seen until something very serious happens to the victim which by them is sometimes too late. Unfair treatment and practices of employers, management and co-workers makes the workplace a very stressful, depressing and uncomfortable place to be but because of the needs to provide for family, take care of bills, put food on the table and just to live people try to endure the abuse out of fear of being terminated/fired.
Many people are not familiar with the terms of Workplace Bullying, Workplace Abuse and Workplace Violence even when they themselves are going through it and being impacted by the signs and symptoms. Our society doesn’t do enough to educate and make aware of the issues until something happens on a major level that brings media attention. Unfortunately, the lives, wellbeing and many are hanging in the balance as they continue to suffer from the impacts of these issues without any solution to addressing them.

Half end in Divorce. The other half seems miserable and complaining most of the time. Temptations are many. So very few have a "Happ and Healthy" Marraige. Maybe the arrangement just doesn't work anymore and is outdated. Other than Government Tax Breaks, what are the real benefits? Couldn't you just have the exact same relationship without the Government getting involved? Ok, that was rhetorical. But a question nonetheless that deserves a real answer. Tonight we will discuss. Gay people stop! You really don't want this!

In many situations we see our decisions as an ‘either/or’ dilemma. Author and Ph.D. Bernie Mayer argues in his new book, The Conflict Paradox, Seven Dilemmas at the Core of Disputes, that the real challenge is to find a new path that incorporates both approaches. These apparently opposing conflict practices need not be mutually exclusive—in fact, each is necessary to the other.
Bernie Mayer is a Professor of Dispute Resolution, at The Werner Institute, Creighton University. For over thirty years he has been a leader in the conflict resolution field. Bernie has facilitated many complex environmental conflicts, commercial and organizational disputes, interpersonal conflicts, public decision-making processes, and has an extensive background in family mediation as well. He is a founding partner of CDR Associates, a pioneering conflict intervention firm. Bernie is the author of many books and articles. His lastest book is, The Conflict Paradox, Seven Dilemmas at the Core of Disputes.
Stephen Kotev is a Washington D.C. based conflict resolution consultant offering mediation, negotiation and facilitation services, conflict coaching, training and somatic education to private and government clients. He holds a Master of Science degree from George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and a black belt in the Japanese martial art of Aikido. Stephen is a nationally recognized expert on how to maintain your performance under pressure and the Chair of the Association for Conflict Resolution’s Taskforce on Safety in ADR.
