Hard Starboard Radio: Causes & Effects

    in Politics Conservative

Hillary Clinton's shitzkrieg continues: Republicans want to "put illegals in boxcars," while Mexico threatens Texas over its refusal to issue illegal alien birth certificates; Latest Obama taunt: Iran "deal" will "improve Iran-Israel relations" while Hassan Rouhani tells Iranian "parliament" Iran nuclear "deal" is a "suggestion"; Thai police arrest a "foreign man" they refuse to identify in Bangkok bombing at the same time that ISIS is spreading all over the world; White Texas sheriff's deputy is executed by black gunman, and America's greatest sheriff - who also happens to be black - is mad as hell and is not going to take it anymore; and while the EPA is blowing off the federal court injunction against Barack Obama's seizure of all American water, it's fining an ecologically enlightened Wyoming farmer into oblivion.

The prophetic passage of Scripture that we are looking at today is 2 Chronicles 20:15-17.

Our second coming quote for today is from Oswald Chambers: He said, "The only way to wait for the Second Coming is to watch that you do what you should do, so that when he comes is a matter of indifference. It is the attitude of a child, certain that God knows what he is doing. When the Lord does come, it will be as natural as breathing. God never does anything hysterical, and he never produces hysterics."

Hassan Whiteside's Days in Miami are numbered

    in Basketball

Quite the performance by Hassan Whiteside of the Heat in Tuesday night's loss to the Hawks: 23 points on 11-for-12 shooting, 14 rebounds and four blocks in just 31 minutes. If Dwyane Wade had not come down with a migraine, the Heat might actually be 3-1 instead of 2-2.

Folks in Miami are rightfully thrilled about the emergence last season and this season by Whiteside, but here is the bad news: Unless Miami plans to renounce its right to Dwyane Wade, there is almost zero chance they can retain him when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Whiteside is on the second year of a two-year contract, and when it expires he will become what is known as an "Early Bird" free agent -- as opposed to a "Full Bird" free agent who is coming off a contract of three years or more.

So the Heat cannot offer him a max contract, while plenty of other teams can.Mike Scotto addressed this in his list of the Top 25 Free Agents of 2016, and Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel went into further detail:

"With Whiteside to fall short of full Bird Rights due to only a two-year tenure with the team, the Heat still will have to create salary-cap space to re-sign him next summer. The only way for the Heat to go over the 2016-17 salary cap to re-sign Whiteside would be if he would sign for the average salary as part of his Early Bird Rights, a figure of less than $10 million, one expected to be far below his market value."

I passed along this information during an interview on the Big O show on AM560 in Miami today, and it hit the host -- and a bunch of listeners, I am certain, like a ton of bricks.

Give a listen and you will see what I mean.

The prophetic passage of Scripture that we are looking at today is 1 Kings 20:35-36 which reads: "And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the Lord, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him. Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the Lord, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him."

Our second coming quote for today is from Anthony Ashley Cooper. He said: "The only remedy for all this mass of misery is the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Why do we not plead for it every time we hear the clock strike?"
