It's been a while since I've done an interview with fellow Hashimoto-ers - what a great time to host another show like this!
Many people have a lot of fears around diet changes, they doubt that food can really matter, some are more interested in tweaking their medications alone and resist the power of detoxification, food, sleep and self-love.
My hope for this show is to give hope and inspire all of you to make the changes necessary to progress in your healing journeys - it can happen and it doesn't have to be that hard.
Today I'll be interviewing a few thyroid thrivers about:
The key changes they made that made the biggest difference
The biggest fears and hesitations they had on this path
What will they be working on in the future?
Their words of encouragement to the community

in Self Help
As is the case with many people with ADHD, Charley Burt is successful, smart, funny, and compassionate. But she doesn’t just have ADHD. Companion conditions typically co-exist with ADHD, and in Charley’s case, her special genetic make-up includes Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as well.
In our conversation we also touch on how familial suicide has impacted both of us and fueled our passion to share with others the struggles involved in all forms of mental illness.
You’ll surely enjoy Charley’s warmth and good nature as you listen to her share stories of self-discovery and self-disclosure mindful that these are both still a work in progress. She’s untangling what’s what. Considering that all of her, as she calls them, acronyms, have overlapping symptoms, determining what physical ailment is contributing to which mental issue is a puzzle she’s determined to solve.
In fact, through the encouragement of a geneticist, she is in the process of setting up genetic mutation testing through 23andme! Personally, I can’t wait to find out what more information she’ll find out and share. She’s promised to come back and give us an update but don’t wait until then. For more about her journey go to embracingadultadhd.wordpress.com and subscribe. She writes almost every day something about her ADHD and its effects on her life and relationships.
You can reach her on Twitter @CharleyBurt1 or visit her blog.
Fatigue, inflammation, weight loss resistance, sleepless nights and chronic disease....can it all be caused by an overtaxed immune system?
Your immune system is your body’s “guard”. It is able to identify what belongs in your body and what doesn’t. When it finds an “invader” such as a virus, bacteria or heavy metals – its job is to disable them, allowing the body to live and function optimally. Unfortunately, sometimes the immune system gets overloaded and becomes unable to do its job properly. It then begins to target healthy tissues, a situation that, if it persists can often lead to an autoimmune disease or autoimmunity.
More than 23 million Americans suffer from autoimmunity, which makes it the third most common category of illness in the United States after cancer and heart disease. Some of the most common autoimmune diseases include Rheumatoid Arthritis, Type 1 Diabetes, Lupus, Hashimoto’s thyroid disease, along with Allergies and Asthma.
Unless this problem of a dysfunctional immune system is addressed at the ROOT, no amount of intervention will cause the invader to retreat.
Join us as we speak with Erica Jurasits, DO as she talks about what the very first step to healing is and how genetics, lifestyle, environmental factors and stress causes dysfunction in the body.
Dr. Jurasits, founder of Integrative Healing Wellness in Port Jefferson and board certified in Family Medicine uses a patient centered approach to find the “root cause” of illness and brings your body back into balance.
Come see Dr. Jurasits speak live at the upcoming NAVEL Expo November 8th as well as many other wellness oriented, prevention minded doctors and healers.
Madam Coach continues to honor "Breast Cancer" month Friday, OCTOBER 16TH, on Blog Talk Radio at 5:30 pm CST with guest LORI BOOTY, Owner of Beautiful Immunity, a Certified Transformational Nutrition and Health Coach.
LORI was diagnosed at age 16 with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Also, later after the birth of her second child was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism. This led her to wonder about what was causing her health problems and those of her loved ones. LORI began researching diet and nutrition after her mother was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease. She watched helplessly as her mother’s immune system deteriorated due to treatment with strong anti-inflammatory drugs.
In 2007, her mother was diagnosed with cancer and began fighting a brave 2 year battle. This experience moved her to commit to bringing information to others about how not only food, but psychology and spirituality can heal better than pills. Lori specializes in helping others with a family history of autoimmune disease improve their diagnosis.
Join the conversation. And everyone is always welcome to connect with Madam Coach @; http://facebook.com/madamlifecoach or http://madamlifestylrcoaching.org.
