The Hippy and Hick- "The Announcement"- Guest Wil Hanes

    in Sports

Will Hanes from MXNECISSITY.com will join us to chat some moto and tell us about L.A. However I do have a bit of bad news for Hippy and Hick Listeners. This will be the last free episode for download. The show will stream free, but I am going to charge for downloads. Now there is a good reason for this. I have decided to invest money into a new team for SX 2013. The team will have two riders and will contest the 450 class. The guys behind the team have some BooKoo bucks and they are signed sealed and in. Good news for a sport in need of a face lift and a tummy tuck.
All the money I raise from the proceeds of the show have been contracted to go straight to the team. In the end the Hippy and Hick Fans will get ownership if they want. It will also weed out the losers who can listen to what I have to say only to try and argue against me while they sensor my responses. So if you hate me but love the team and supporting one then here is a place for the misfits with money.
On February 11th, 2012 we will have our show announcing the team and will open up the phones for fans, industry or anyone interested. If you want to know what the other teams won’t tell this will be your chance. We will be a full disclosure and transparent team. Oh did I mention that they have a reality TV show as part of the deal?
Tune in this weekend to here from Wil Hanes and we can maybe share a bit more of the details. This has been a project in the works for more than three years and it finally came together.

Talking in Circles- NASCAR's Rule Changes, Tony Stewart Grand Jury Ruling

    in Sports

Tony Stewart's grand jury investigation. Jury deliberates within less than an hour that Stewart did no "wrong doing" in the death of fellow competitor Kevin Ward, Jr. According to Toxicology reports Ward was under the influence of marajuana at the time of the incident and it imparied his judgement.

Also NASCAR rule changes for the 2015 season.

NASCAR made 60 modifications to the rules for the 2015 season. Major points-

Reduction of horsepower to 725hp- Going to be very similar to the NNS series. Talk about the simularities and if or will this will hurt NNS. Tapered Spacers instead of smaller engines- Owners again have a say. We're seeing the RTA have a big force. Kauffman said their voice is louder than ever.

Less downforce on the cars- Mike Bliss and Matt Kenseth both said that this is the way to go. hopefully it means better racing.

Qualifying format changes at Daytona for 500- Big deal?

Testing ban on all tracks- Including non-sancitioned tracks. Hard to police? Cost effiecent. RTA reers head early. What happens to veterans/rookies who test for Sprint Cup Series teams? Good or bad for the sport?

BK Racing mess- Ryan Truex out again. Travis Kvapil replaces him on entry list. Where does Truex go from here? How was Truex's year going?

This week in NASCAR history- 1997 Hanes 500 at Martinsville Speedway- Jeff Burton wins. First short track win of his career. Big story- Rusty Wallace jumped restart at the end of the race and was fined $10k for comments- pays in pennies. Earnhardt whispered in Wallace's ear saying that 'it sucks and you got screwed' and Burton seemed to feel same way in VL. Burton seemed actually disappointed in VL cause he wanted to race Rusty the right way.
