SCRIPTURE TEXT: (Daniel 1:7) Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego. (1:8) But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

In this series of messages, we are looking at the 7 keys to living the God-blessed life. The God-blessed life -- Christian success -- is not measured by the same standards as the world's success. Even if the world accounts us "as sheep for the slaughter," we are actually "more than conquerors through Him who loved us." The God-blessed life is a life that is full of contentment, joy, fulfillment, peace, and productivity. It is the kind of life where you know you are in the center of God's will. The seven keys to getting to this position are:
1. Trust God.
2. Love God.
3. Fear God.
4. Meditate on the Word of God.
5. Obey God.
6. Pray to God.
7. Be Faithful to God.
So far, we have looked at the topics of trusting God from the life of Abraham, loving God from the life of the apostle John, fearing God from the life of Job, and meditating on the Word of God from the life of Joshua. Today, we are going to look at obeying God from the life of Daniel and his companions in Babylon.
The prince of the eunuchs evidently thought their names were inappropriate, so renamed them in honor of the gods of Babylon. Thus, Daniel became Belteshazzar (“Favored by Bel”); Hananiah became Shadrach (“Illumined by Rak,” the sun god); Mishael was renamed Meshach (“Belonging to Shak,” the wine goddess); and Azariah was changed to Abednego (“Servant of Nego,” considered to be equivalent to Lucifer). One can imagine that this was deeply resented by these godly young men, who resolved more firmly than ever to stay true to the true God of creation, at all costs. Dan 1:7
Shadrach; Meshach and Abednego WAS Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah
IS YOUR NAME MORE POWERFUL THAN GOD?
Daniel's name means “God is my judge”.......
it was changed to Belteshazzar, which means “favored by Bel.”
MAN IS NAME AND NAME IS MAN.
Hananiah's means “Beloved of the Lord” was changed to Shadrach which means “illumined by Rak,” the sun god).
Mishael (“Who is as God?”) was called Meshach (“who is like Shak,” the Babylonian Venus), and Azariah (“The Lord is my help”) became Abednego (“servant of Nego,” the god of fire).
WHAT PEOPLE CALL YOU IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS WHAT YOU RESPOND TO!!
GOD HONORS HIS WORD ABOVE HIS OWN NAME!
Getting Through Thursday A Sunday School Lesson The Prophet Hananiah was called a false prophet. In his communications with a true prophet of God Jeremiah. Hananiah made a significant mistake: prophesying good when God had called for destruction. WHO CAN YOU TRUST? Money Scam
