PARTY WITH CONSENT- A MOVEMENT TO HELP END CAMPUS SEXUAL ASSAULT
Ever heard of “partying with consent?” If you hang around a college campus, that’s the buzz phrase that means you don’t have sex without permission. Sounds easy, right? But some people (like rapists) just aren’t getting it. What’s the deal?
Jonathan Kalin, founder of “Party with Consent,” started the movement to help end sexual assault on college campuses and health masculinities. He admits that most of the efforts to help curb campus rape has led to confusion and a lot of frustration, and he’s identified three barriers to solving that problem. The idea that sexual assault is simply the result of miscommunication; the fact that there is a real communication problem surrounding sexual consent; and the contradiction of athletics.
Jonathan travels the US to promote and explain the philosophy behind the Party with Consent movement.
There’s no denying there is a serious sexual assault issue on campuses. Even the president launched a major campaign last fall to address the problems. So does Jonathan have the answers?
Tune in Saturday at 11 am Pacific time to hear what he has to say and to ask questions about the problem and what some people are doing about it.

When the POWER OF LOVE

We have been participating in the SEASON FOR NONVIOLENCE: a 64 day campaign, co-founded in 1998 by Dr. Arun Gandhi and The Association for Global New Thought (AGNT), spanning the January 30th and April 4th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Suddenly, I realized that I don't want a season for nonviolence; I WANT A SEASON OF PEACE -- A SEASON OF LOVE -- A SEASON FOR A NEW VISION.

For the first time in a long time, all three cities in Niagara County are having a mayor's race.
In Lockport, the folks there, are discussing the first announced candidate to run against the incumbent Mayor, Anne E. McCaffrey. Michael J. Pillot, a retired policeman who lost races for mayor of Lockport in 2007 and 2011, is trying again. It's still early so there may be others.
In North Tonawanda, people seem to be a little more tight lipped about a run against the incumbent mayor.
North Tonawanda Mayor Arthur G. Pappas is still on his political honeymoon.
Before becoming mayor, Pappas was on the North Tonawanda School Board for 17 years, including a decade as its president.
He was handily elected last November to fill the seat of alderman-at-large following the sudden death of Robert Clark, but after just two weeks as alderman he was tapped to become mayor when then Mayor Ortt resigned to become state senator.
Back at home we are starting to see how this year's campaign is shaping up. Alicia Laible, former Democrat City Committee Chairperson here in Niagara Falls is announcing her 2nd bid to run for Niagara Falls city Council.
Like it or not, the Modern Diposal contract is good for five years, this is no longer about Modern, this is about the city managing this service in a way that it is adequate, fair and cost-effective.
Now let's get to our guest former assemblywoman and now chairman of the board of USA Niagara development Corporation Francine DelMonte.
Can you think of a more clumsy and dangerous move from our President than to leak classified nuclear secrets to extort another nation into taking direction from America?
