    The Female Scrooge’s Large Family

    in Entertainment

As we start a new book, I explain as best and as quickly as possible what happened the past weekend. I have yet to time myself, so we'll see if I make the minutes quota. Haha, I can't believe I'm actually saying that.

Rebecca wanted nothing to do with Christmas. She figured hosting it a fifth time at her family’s home would be her last. After taking a stroll through a surprise snow storm, she discovers a way to travel back and forth to an unusual location. As her travels increase to her “perfect Christmas,” so do the consequences. Is it really supposed to be that dark?

Behind Enemy Lines with Kyle Meinke of MLive.com

    in Football

Amanda and Chris start the show talking about coming to terms with the Green Bay Packers' second straight loss, before talking about the sideline incident between BJ Raji, Haha Clinton-Dix and Julius Peppers, and the tablet chuck by Aaron Rodgers. They discuss how high and mighty Minnesota Vikings fans feel right now, before discussing how hosting the 1-7 Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field might be just what the doctor ordered.

They then welcome back old friend Kyle Meinke from MLive.com to talk about the current state of the Lions franchise, what has happened to Matthew Stafford, the current state of Calvin Johnson, the solid play of Ziggy Ansah, and the stoicism of Jim Caldwell.

Behind Enemy Lines is brought to you by hosts, Amanda Geffre and Chris Callaway. Read Amanda's work over a CheeseSportsLife and Chris's musings as Sports Director for the Lacrosse Radio Group.

Partying In The Mighty Red Sea

    in Entertainment

As I talk of my previous week and weekend, the same music is played from months before. Yep, I sadly mean it. Wow, I really do need to figure out a new playlist, haha.

It is Dancing Monday, everyone. So part the Red Sea like you're Moses. Prince of Egypt soundtrack commences, though I talk of opposite topics. Put on your tennis shoes, grab a water bottle, and dance with me! Yeah!

The View Up Here & Mark Bourrie make the new government priority list

    in Politics

November 4 is the day. The new government is sworn in. On one hand we have campaign promises. On the other we have obvious priorities. Do they intersect? How much stupidity will the Trudeau administration be committed to from all the senseless litigation courtesy of unconstitutional Harper legislation? There will be as many different priorities as people you ask. Expectations are a bitch. But a majority insulates against immediate demands. With 150 rookies in caucus, Cabinet will be an interesting selection process.

Mark Bourrie (@MarkBourrie) is an award winning Canadian journalist, best selling author, historian and lecturer at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. His work has also appeared in many major magazines and newspapers. Mark has a BA in History from the University of Waterloo, a diploma in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Guelph, a Masters in Journalism from Carleton University and a Doctorate in Canadian media history from the University of Ottawa.

Join us as Mark and the intrepid host (haha) discuss how priorities can be gleaned from a massive pile of problems left behind by the CPC gong show. Don't let us skip or omit anything. Call in and let us know!

Episode #54: Where the F*** are we?

    in Comedy

Born In Israel, Roy had your average beginning. Then, as if the confusion of his roots wouldn't eventually turn this little boy into a skewed man, his parents pulled a mean trick... Deciding to raise him in Kentucky.

Whether it's making fun of his height (5'2), tackling personal issues, slamming an analytical magnifying glass on world events and society in general, or sharing a story from his travels - Roy's comedy is live, direct, and brutally honest.

Fan's rave of his wit and edge, as well as the relevance of his humor in today's "Patriot Act" society. Some say his style of comedy goes beyond the "accepted psychology of the time." But all who have seen him appreciate his will to speak his mind, sparring no karmic expense, and excluding no one in his satirical tirades. The most compelling idea echoed by the crowd is that, though he often leads his audience to the very edge, he shows great tact in realizing where that edge is, and attempts to tread past the threshold only when necessary and never for the cheap, yet often sought after "shock value" laugh. Not only will Roy's show have you doubled over with laughter, but it will also undoubtedly move you to thought and reason.

Roy has performed throughout the United States, for our troops abroad, and cut his teeth on many stages in Canada. He's appeared with Jim Breuer, Tommy Davidson, Don Rickles, Tim Wilson, Alex Reymundo, and many more. He also received numerous awards at the IMTA Nationals in Los Angeles California, including 2nd runner-up, "Actor Of The Year". Come out to the show, warm up your face muscles, and prepare your tear ducts for an evening of hilarity. You'll be sure to have BIG fun with this little man!

    A Direction You Never Expected

    in Entertainment

For the second Monday of August, I continue my dancing music tradition. Before I play songs, though, I decide to take things up a bit. This is my show, after all, and I love good, shocking, dramatic moments. I am a writer of course; we all have our theatric flairs.

Wow, being a TV star is really getting to my head. Maybe I should watch what I'm doing, haha. My mom is a Christian; of course, I should. Look out, people. I got a big head!
