Tonight our show will be about those SELF HATING NEGROES, oh yeh you know them. “The psychic distance between love and hate could be the mechanical difference between a smile and a sneer, or it could be the journey of a nervous impulse in its path through North American nerves may, if it is honest, find the passage disputed:  may find the leap form the fiber of hate to that of love too taxing on its meager store of energy—and so the long trip may never be completed, may end in a reconnaissance, a compromise, and then a lie.

Self-hatred takes many forms; sometimes it can be detected by no one, not by the keenest observer, not by the self-hater himself, not by his most intimate friends. Ethnic self-hater himself is even more difficult to detect.  But in American Negroes, the ethnic self hatred often takes the bizarre from of a racial death wish, with many and elusive manifestations. Ironically, it provides much of the impetus behind the motivations go integration.  And the attempt to suppress or deny such drives in ones psyche leads many American Negro to become ostentatious separationists,  black Muslims, and Back to Africa advocates.

Orishas, Love and Sex in West Africa & Parliament with Phyllis C & Angie B.

    in Spirituality

First Guest.....Marsha Scarbrough, author of Honey in the River:  Shadow, Sex and West African Spirituality discusses with us tonight her personal journey and discovery of the Orishas, Goddess Archetypes of West Africa, all while under the influence of her babalawo, or Yoruban lover who acted as her spiritual leader.  We'll talk about her personal soap opera and the growth she gleaned from that tangled relationship, as well as discuss what is Ifa and Ifa voodoo, who are the feminine orishas, the trickster and  how Ifa informs our contemporary lives.  This is a very heartfelt and candid look at how important it is to look at our own shadow, and in this case, how Marsha was willing to lie and betray other women in order to feel loved.  How she, and many women, are in denial about being in abusive relationships and willingly take part in self-sabotaging behavior and allow themselves to be exploited by others in positions of power.

Second Guests.....Phyllis Currott and Angie Buchanan, prominent Pagan movers and shakers involved with planning the Council for the Parliament of World Religions will give us a behind the scenes look at this incredible inter-faith gathering that happened in October 2015 in Salt Lake City, UT, and we'll hear what's ahead for the next Parliament.

    Tonight we

will discuss further the meaning of self hatred and what it has done to the Black Movement of Independence in America.  The damage is irrefutable and sustaining so much so that it is one of the main causes of the break down in the Black Family that is creating so many single family house holds. That can neither maintain the children who suffer in silence nor the men and women who attempt this life of Blasphemy against the true command of the God of the Universe. “ A rereading of NOBODY KNOW MY NAME  cannot help but convince the most avid of Baldwin’s admires of the hatred for blacks permeating (from) his writings. In the essay “PRINCESS AND POWERS” Baldwin’s interpretation of the conference of Black Writers and Artist which met in Paris in September 1956.  The portrait  of Baldwin that comes through his words is that of a mind in unrelenting opposition to the efforts of solemn, dedicated black m who have undertaken the enormous task of rejuvenating and reclaiming the shattered psyches and culture of the black people, a people scattered over the continents of the world and the islands of the seas, where they exist in the mud of the floor of the foul dungeon into which the world has been transformed by the whites." Eldridge Cleaver.  Our beloved leader Huey P. Newton says this about the homosexual groups.  "We should try to form working coalition with the gay liveration and women's liberation groups. We must always handle social forces inthe most appropriate manner."

The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Author Tiffany Campbell joins us to discuss her book, Scared of Beautiful. This is Tiffany's first appearance on the Author Chat Show.

    About the book:

To be an aspiring photographer, the thought of beauty strikes fear in a young Bobbi Cochran; a fear that had paralyzed her since losing her love to her very best friend. Her world became dark, the hatred she felt in her heart plaguing her relationships with people and even the view she had of herself. Needing a fresh start, she relocates to California where a collision with a young and equally fearful Donovan McCall, changes the course of her life forever. Love was a word and an emotion that was non-existent in Donovan's world. He lived the selfish lifestyle of a young entrepreneur, owning a tattoo shop in West Hollywood. Women were magnets to his good looks, success and charm making it easy to maneuver around any emotion before it turned into something more. Women were disposable. He was never challenged, and when he was , she was replaced. It isn't until he runs into a rude Bobbi Cochran, that everything he had become so accustomed to turned foreign. Love and the art of it all was something both wanted to devour into but the fear of the beauty within was holding them back. Will they let go and allow love to take control? What are they so afraid of?

    About the author:

Tiffany Campbell is a 25 year old author, born and raised in Columbus, OH. Starting fresh with her first novel, Scared of Beautiful, she intends to provide relatable and enjoyable reads for young African American adults. Tiffany aspires to motivate people of all ages to strive to accomplish their goals, without allowing their fears to override the confidence it takes to follow their dreams. Follow this young author as she begins the journey to promote reading to her generation across the globe.

Let's Talk Too! Author Daniel N. Collins

    in Books

    I'm your host

    Author Sharnel

    Daniel N. Collins,

He was born on September 4th 1975 in Newark NJ, but he was raised in Elizabeth NJ. Elizabeth is where he first put the pen to the paper in the 11th grade. Daniel has moved on since then and published his first poem in 2002 in a book called "Flood of Contentment", and with this he received the editors choice award for his poem called "moving on".
Today Daniel N Collins has published two books of his own called "The soul Vs Flesh" / Life 2 Lyrics, which even has a sequel called "The Soul Vs Flesh" / Lyrics 4 Life. The Soul Vs Flesh is a series and a collection of events that has happened in Daniels life put together in a lyrical display. What Daniel did was give his flesh its own voice and his soul it's own voice and let them talk amongst each other round after round as he sits in the middle and tries not to add a bias opinion. The Soul Vs Flesh is basically Daniels own spiritual warfare put into lyrical form. What's intriguing about Daniels first book is that it was written on a blackberry tour in a span of eight months. Daniel fervently writes about life as he sees it so he needs an electrical device within an arms reach at all times. Daniel is an exemplary writer but is also inspired by other writers as well such as Langston Hughes, Tupac Shakoor,  D H Lawrence,  Dr Cornel West, and Lil Wayne. Daniel is a true renaissance man, he enjoys Jazz, Hip Hop,and  R&B.
Daniel enjoys reading or siting in silence listing to his heart as he plagiarizes what his mind tells him to write.  Over all Daniel is an outside of the box kind of guy and the best quote to describe him is one by Brian Tracey and says "Nothing great has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstances".
