Whew it's a big week here on the Punch Drunk Podcast. First up we have Marvel's biggest gamble to date as Chris Pratt, a green Zoe Saldana, an alien Dave Bautista, and talking racoon and a anthropamorphic tree star in Guardians of the Galaxy. Next up is this year's big biopic as the Godfather of Soul is brought back to life on screen in Get on Up. All this and more on the Punch Drunk Podcast!
This week we review "Guardians of the Galaxy" starring everyone. Seriously - you may not recognize them because of the extensive make-up, but it's like a full 3rd of Hollywood in this thing. Written & directed by James Gunn, the movie which is based on one of the lesser known comic books, has already gotten the green light for a sequel in 2017. Tune in to find out if it will go down in the history books as one of the best scifi/fantasy movies EVER, or if it should be burned and have it's ashes tossed into the darkest reaches of space.

Plus, Chadwick Boseman does his best to embody the "hardest working man in show business" James Brown in Get On Up, the new biopic from The Help director, Tate Taylor. Boseman was flawless in his portrayal of Jackie Robinson in 42, but can he really capture all of Brown's moves? All that and the news straight from San Diego Comic-Con!

Guardians of the Galaxy is still in theaters, ruling the box office as the top earning domestic film in 2014... so far. We'll discuss the film and try to figure out exactly why it's taken movie theaters by storm. And.... We are Groot!
Scott is the proprietor of the AV Club's Internet Film School and an associate editor at The Raw Story. He also writes for Lawyers, Guns & Money, podcasts, and is an expert on Game of Thrones.
On this episode, we review Guardian of the Galaxy.
Ghost gives his insight on the The Purge: Anarchy.
We have a few other topics that we mighttalk about but we'd rather not completely commit because we might change our minds.
We feel like Venom... talking in the third person. We'll have to think about that more later. We are just one person writing this episode description..... OR ARE WE?????
