International Sunday School Commentary on 1 John 4:11-5:5 week of 04-19-2015

    in Politics Progressive

    V. 13. begins, ‘’by this know we...’’  If you love others then the love of God dwells in you..V. 14, the apostle tell his listening audience he is an eyewitness to JESUS dying for our sin.V.15, The most relevant answer in the scripture is the answer to the unstated thought, ‘’how do I know?’’ -- If God is inside of me and I dwell with him...V. 16 is a reiteration of God’s love for our indwelling love for him. V,17 our indwelling love for GOD perfect our love as we reside in the world as we wait for ‘’the day of Judgement’’. V.18 makes a very bold statement, ‘’there is no fear in love - perfect casteth out fear’’V,19 is the what came first -- the chicken or the egg--who love who first -- Christ loved us while we were yet sinners, Rom 5:8.V.20 John calls into question the conservative church telling the media they love him but do not love the ‘’gays’’..V.21 is the commandment from him that he would loves God must love his brother, also.V.1 of chp 5:1 faith is the overcoming principle in the conflict with the church and the LGBT community. The hetrosexual living in sin is the sameV.1 of chp 5:1: Faith is the overcoming principle in the conflict with the church and the LGBT community.Verses 2-5 are our closing remarks: ‘’By this we know that we love all the children of God .

International Sunday School Lesson Commentary on 1 John 3:11-23 Wk 0f 04-12-15

    in Christianity

V.11: God gave us the Law and Christ. The law was not taken away but fulfil in Christ’s statement in John 13:34 ‘’A new commandment I give to unto you, that you love one another, as I have loved you. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye love have love one to another’’ V.12: The love of family forms the smaller circles; members with the same  mother God warned Cain in Genesis 4:7 that ‘’sin was at the door’’ of his circle. Cain killed ‘’his b-r-o-t-h-e-r’’, Abel. The writer used the word ‘’b-r-o-t-h-e-r’’ in Vs.12, 14,15 & 16 and he used the word ‘’b-r-e-t-h-r-e-n’’ in Vs.13,14 & 16.

V.13: Marvel not my brethren. The word ‘’Brethren’’ meaning is found in Galatians 6:10 in the words of those who ‘’are of the household of faith’’ all who share a belief in Christ the Savior. We who are of the household of faith must love each other because the world hates us as it did Chist. Satan has organized the world which he is prince (John 12:31) upon his cosmic principles of force, greed, selfishness, ambition, and pleasure. Those are the things he offered in Matthew 4:9 in his temptation of Christ. I think the saddest words in the book are in V.15 If you hate or hurt the members of your family circle, you are a murderer and a destroyer and eternal life does not abide in you. The statement in V.14 is anchored in V.16, how can you know you love the brethren when you are not willing ‘’to lay down our lives for the member of the household of faith.

    America in Decline

    in Politics

Can we stop the decline of America?   Let's talk about it.

What does it mean when the President of the United States of America will trade five terrorists for one American treasonous traitor?  Bowe Bergdahl is a known traitor that six Americans died trying to save and our President uses his treasonous actions as an excuse to release five dangerous terrorists that will be back on the battlefield killing Americans within a few months.  This is treason, but no one seems to care.  Why does no one care?  What does this say about America and Americans?
Grover Norquist, the Muslim Brotherhood and the GOP.  The information being reporting makes the actions of Grover Norquist look like a traitor to America.  How much money did the GOP receive from the Muslim Brotherhood?  Did the GOP know about this?  Can anyone disprove the recent reports about Grover Norquist?  If true, what does this say about Grover Norquist, the GOP and America?
Constitutional Eligibility to become President of the U.S.A.  Does the Constitution matter anymore?
Why are Americans willing to settle for the "lessor of two evils"?  What does this say about Americans?
What really happened to Hillary R. Clinton's email server?  What does this say about American values?

Can America Restore her Core Values?

Sen. David Vitter (R-LA.) has offered two amendments. Vitter amendment #849 to end Birthright Citizenship, and Vitter amendment #850 defund Pres. Obama's November 2014 executive amnesty. The overall Budget Resolution is non-binding, but adding both amendments to the resolution would signal Congress' intent to end Birthright Citizenship and defund Pres. Obama's unconstitutional amnesty. Will the Republicans Senate stand with David Vitter?

1 Corinthians 15 is the fact of the Resurrection

In 1 Corinthians 15 - the apostle outlines the Gospel of God’s grace in verses 1-8. It concerns a person the Christ of Scriptures and History. It concerns his death for all sins according to Scriptures. It concerns his resurrection and a declaration he lives.v. 9&10: Paul’s testimony of persecuting the church was a thorn in his side. A hurt the he kept ever before him as he evangelized the gospel. He went to Nero’s chopping block, believing he was “not fit to be called an apostle’’.

Paul would write in v, 10, ‘’I labored  more abundantly than they all; yet not I, but the the grace of God which was within me’’.

v.11, is the Holy Spirit saying to Paul, ‘’just the facts of the matter’’ and he would respond whether it was I or they so we preached and so you believed’’. There is a test that is applied our faith comes by hearing in, v. 14: ‘’...if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching is vain, and your faith is also vain’’.

    v. 20-22 is the order of the resurrection: v. 20; Christ is the first to rise from the dead he is the first fruit of them who slept. v.21&22 is the comparison and contrasting of the first Adam and the second Christ. I am lead to read the verses backward in v.47& 45: “The first man Adam is of the earth, earthly; the second is the Lord from heaven’’. ‘’And so it is written, the first man, Adam, was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a life-giving spirit’’. v.22: ‘’For in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive’’. v.21: “For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead’’.

V 1: when Jesus’ entourage was a day journey from Jerusalem, he sent two of his disciples to a place in the city of Bethany where he had friends, Mary and Martha and their brother Lazarus lived. V.2&3:Jesus tells the Two to bring him a colt that no man has sat upon if the owner should ask why you are loosing the colt you tell him the, ‘Lord has need’. V.4,5&6 ; are a verbatim account of what Jesus said would happen. V. 7 they bought the colt but not a colt only an ass as well (Matt 21:2, Jesus, ‘’you will find an ass tired loose them and bring them onto me’’). V. 8: when the colt was brought to Jesus word spread that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem; many of his disciples put their garments on the back of the animal and in the road; others rush out to meet Jesus while cutting down palm branches and spreaded it in the road. V.9 &10 is the multitude who knew of his mighty works they had witnessed Lazarus raised from death. They went before the crowd and others followed and as they came near to Mount Olives they cried  out in the lousiest of voice, ‘’Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord, Blessed is the most High as loud as they could. Some of the Pharisees in Luke 19:39 came to Jesus and asked him to rebuke his disciples. If these disciples were to  hold their peace the rocks would do the praising, Jesus said. The Pharisees said among themselves, ‘’the world has gone after him’’. V.11: has Jesus entering Jerusalem in the evening going in the temple looking around leaving to spend the night in Bethany and have his evening meal with Lazarus, Martha, and Mary. Mary washed his feet . Sunday School Commentary on John 20:19-23 for the week of 03-22-15

    in Christianity

John 20:19-23 is the when, where, how, where, and the why of the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus with his disciples. It is also the 5th of 10 post-resurrection appearances after he arose from the grave after being dead for 3 days.V.19:contains the WHEN - it was the first day of the week. The WHERE is in the Upper Room where Jesus and the disciple ate the Passover meal. The HOW is in the  question how did he appear ‘’in the midst’’ of them ‘’when the door was shut’’? V.21: is the it is I, Jesus shows his 3 day scars on his hands and his side.   V.21 answers the WHY and gives the assurance they will live and provide evangelistic service unto the Lord. V: 22&23: is the WHAT and the WHY questions-- these verses are filled with controversy in Christendom. Catholics say one thing and Protestants say something else or not. Catholicism claims these verses as the authority which gives a priest the right to hear confessions and forgive sins. Protestants stumbles in their critique by quoting Luke 24:33 which happens 7 days later it say ‘’others’’ were in the room including the 11 when John 20:24 put 10 in the room for Thomas was absent.

I will ask the Father to comfort you...V.17:..and to give the Spirit of Truth/Spirit of Peace. The world can not know peace until the sin issue has been settled. God is in you but not in the world. If you can see Jesus God has lifted the blindness that Satan caused (2 Corinthians 4:4). V.23: Jesus is offering a partnership with him and the Father, ‘’we will come and make our abode’’. V.24: Here Is the Judgement, if you don’t love Jesus God does not love you Christ says these words I speak are ‘’not mines but the Father’s who sent me’’. International Sunday School Commentary John 1:29-34 for the week of -03-01-15

    in Christianity

Jesus’ Baptism was his Coronation as the Savior to the World. John 1:15-28 gives background to the ‘’what’’ the ‘’why’’ and the ‘’when’’ of the event.

    V. 29: The next day...Jesus would come from Nazareth of Galilee to the wilderness of Judea to be baptised by John; V.30: Adds to the ‘’greater than me’’ statement in V.27; V.31: John did not know who the Savior was his mission was to baptise and testify to what he saw; V.32: He saw a descending dove resting on Jesus’ shoulder; V.33: He saw what he was told by whom sent him to baptist and to testify that this would be the one who would baptise with the Holy Spirit. V.34: Is John’s statement, I came, I baptise, I saw the dove in the person of the Holy Spirit rested upon his shoulder, and I declared that man as the Son of God.

From that point on John’s mission began to decrease and Jesus began to increase.
