Ep# 156 Youth Ministry Conversation--Youth Groups or Family Integrated
Welcome to G220 Radio! Here on the program we discuss a wide variety of topics from a biblical worldview, our goal is to be encouraging and edifying for believers while being convicting to unbelievers.
On this episode of G220 Radio we will be having a discussion between four brothers in Christ on the topic of Youth Groups or Family Integrated Ministry. We would not be telling the truth if we said there is no problem with the youth ministry that happens in many "churches" today. I doubt any of the guests would argue that there can be problems with youth ministry and programs designed for children. What about family integrated ministry, it has been around for a long, long time and some churches are family integrated or have moved towards it over the years.
Well tonight we get to listen as my guests will discuss this topic. Jason Marianna a good brother in the Lord, someone whom I just recently met at the Ohio Fire conference a little while back along with Michael Coughlin another good brother in the Lord whom I've been blessed to evangelize with out at the Ohio State football game not to long ago and member o the Striving for Eternity Ministry will be speaking on behalf of youth ministry.
Pastor Mike Waters of Heritage Reformed Baptist Church, a dear brother in the Lord, one whom I highly respect and enjoy listening to his sermons along with my Pastor Austin Hetsler of Christ the Rock Church, who is very near and dear to me, my pastor and friend, a brother in the Lord whom I have been blessed to minister alongside many times out on the streets will take the side of the family integrated model of ministry.
This should be a wonderful and gracious conversation between these men and we hope you will be blessed and encouraged by the program.

This past week POLITICO reported that several progressive groups have targeted HUD Secretary Julián Castro, questioning vice presidential qualifications if Hillary Clinton were to win the Democratic presidential nomination. That campaign led to dissension among Latino organizations, according to BuzzFeed. Others have weighed in on the story, claiming that Castro being Latino is just irrelevant. The chatter keeps getting stronger, so much so that Castro had to address it with NBC News.
Tonight we talk with Matt Nelson, Managing Director at Presente.org, one of the groups who is criticizing Castro for "selling our neighborhoods to Wall Street." An online petition has generated close to 100,000 signatures in just a few days. Later in the show, Brent Wilkes, the National Executive Director for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), will join us as well. LULAC and other Latino organizations have been critical of the campaign against Castro.

TWO GROUPS OF ADVENTISTS AT FIRST ONLY A FEW WERE IDENTIFIED WITH THIS GROUP WHO WERE MOVING FORWARD IN ADVANCING LIGHT. BY THE YEAR 1846 THEY RECKONED THEIR NUMBERS AS ABOUT FIFTY. THE LARGER GROUP WHO TURNED FROM CONFIDENCE IN THE FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY IN 1844 NUMBERED APPROXIMATELY THIRTY THOUSAND. THEIR LEADERS CAME TOGETHER IN 1845 IN A CONFERENCE IN ALBANY, NEW YORK, APRIL Early Writings Of Ellen G. White 8 29 TO MAY 1, AT WHICH TIME THEY RESTUDIED THEIR POSITIONS. BY FORMAL ACTION THEY WENT ON RECORD AS WARNING AGAINST THOSE WHO CLAIM “SPECIAL ILLUMINATION,” THOSE WHO TEACH “JEWISH FABLES,” AND THOSE WHO ESTABLISH “NEW TESTS” (ADVENT HERALD, MAY 14, 1845). THUS THEY CLOSED THE DOOR TO LIGHT ON THE SABBATH AND THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. THEY WERE CONFIDENT THAT PROPHECY HAD NOT BEEN FULFILLED IN 1844, AND SOME SET TIME FOR THE TERMINATION OF THE 2300-DAY PERIOD IN THE FUTURE. VARIOUS TIMES WERE SET, BUT ONE AFTER ANOTHER THEY PASSED BY. THESE PEOPLE, HELD TOGETHER BY THE COHESIVE ELEMENT OF THE ADVENT HOPE, AT FIRST ALIGNED THEMSELVES IN SEVERAL RATHER LOOSELY KNIT GROUPS WITH CONSIDERABLE VARIATION IN CERTAIN DOCTRINAL POSITIONS. SOME OF THESE GROUPS SOON FADED OUT. THE GROUP THAT SURVIVED BECAME THE ADVENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH. SUCH ARE IDENTIFIED IN THIS BOOK AS THE “FIRST DAY ADVENTISTS” OR “NOMINAL ADVENTISTS.” DAWN OF THE LIGHT ON
The emotional impact of a disability and its effect on quality of life are important to consider for both the individual and caregivers, and can lead to depression and anxiety. Many types of support groups that are free and acessible are available to provide information, education and mutual peer support. Members of Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania (EFEPA) support groups join us to talk about how their lives have been positively impacted by their participation as individuals with epilepsy and caregivers.

Probably one of the biggest decisions you will make when booking your vacation after you have determined your destination, is whether to join an organized tour or explore independently. Travel Agent Regina Loustalet joins Travel Talk next week to discuss the benefits of group and tours. Self-Booking is great but there are definitely some perks to joining a tour group.

Hosted by Sade' and Knowledge
On Hotwordz Lyrical Theatre0, The ‘Classical Soul’ show with Sade’ and Knowledge will feature the sounds of Aretha Franklin & The Girl Groups of Soul in America from the 60’s era. What do you know about Martha Reeves and the Vandellas? What do you know about background singers like Lois Reeves who played a major part in the Vandellas music industry story? Another girl group as they were called, shined a little light on Edna Wright and The Blossoms. The Blossoms were one of the premium female backing vocal groups during the 60s and 70s and existed in many versions under many pseudonyms. Familiar artists that came and went include Edna Wright, Gloria Jones and Merry Clayton. Aretha Franklin stood the test of time in the young Motown music industry and today, she remains recognized as a high profile ‘Soul Singer’. HLT0 will focus a little bit on the lost girl groups of soul and the inspiration behind some of these great acts from the legend of Motown.
