On this edition of the Open Stage, Michelle will interview the new facilitator for the SAW Songwriter’s Toolbox, Karl Straub. Karl is a performing songwriter with a variety of groups and teaches private music lessons. With his former band, The Graverobbers, he recorded 5 albums of his original songs. Several local groups including Last Train Home, Little Pink, and The Grandsons have also recorded Karl’s songs. In 2013, he co-wrote a musical called “Hangtown Dancehall” with Eric Brace. The soundtrack to the musical was released in 2013 and is available from Red Beet Records, Eric Brace's Nashville-based label. The musical was inspired by the California Gold Rush. It debuted in Nashville and has been performed at the Birchmere in Alexandria. In this interview, we'll talk about Straub’s musical background and his vision for the Songwriter’s Toolbox. We'll also play some of Karl's music. Straub’s first Songwriter’s Toolbox workshop will be held Saturday, January 24th, at the Surge, 1988 Kirby Road, McLean, VA 22101, from 10am-12:30pm. The Songwriter’s Toolbox will continue each 4th Saturday of the month throughout the year. For more information on the Toolbox, visit the SAW website

Right now, it's the wild, wild West in this industry. So many certifications and organizations trying to manage those certified and uncertified and newly certified instructors, while simultaneously branding themselves as the leader in group fitness innovation. Who is advocating for the instructor? We must advocate for ourselves. We must agree on our own standards. We must work together to build a product that is 'as sold/ as delivered'
I want to know what you think. Please connect with me through social media or as a guest on the show.

We are honored and thrilled to have as our guest on today's episode of "Stage Right" Mr. David Marcus. David is a playwright and blogger who has been featured in "The Federalist," a web magazine focused on culture, politics, and religion. David's blogs have discussed, quite rationally, the lack of conservative voices in theatre and what we can do about it. He was also a playwright represented at the Republican Theater Festival in 2012. Be sure to join me for what promises to be an enlightening discussion with a man who shares our cause!
Today on "Stage Right"--the show that seeks the conservative voice in theatre--we are delighted to have as our guest playwright, visual artist, and activist Lavinia Roberts. Lavinia's play "Eternal Flowers" was produced at the Republican Theater Festival in 2012. Join us as this self-described socialist discusses her career and the impetus behind "Eternal Flowers." Don't forget to call into the show at (347) 884-9659 or write to me at email@example.com.
Join me and my guests as we review the fourth round of matches in the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage as we talk to those fans that have their clubs in the Confederational Club tournament in MLS & Liga MX
Today's episode of "Stage Right"--the show that seeks the Conservative voice in theatre--features an interview with Mark Phillips Schwamberger. Mark is a theatre professional based in Columbus, Ohio. He is a playwright, an actor, a director, and the managing director of the Evolution Theatre Company, a Columbus theatre company featuring LGBT themes. I guess you can imagine that Mark is not, as he put it, a "conservative thinker." Yet, we appreciate opposing views on "Stage Right," so let's hear what he has to say!
On today's episode of "Stage Right," I will forego my usual formal interview format and concentrate on the voice of my listeners. Since its inception we've been pondering the question "just what is conservative theatre anyway?" I think we need to revisit that question to see if, in the six months we've been on the air, we have come any closer to answering it. I will rely on the comments of my listeners to spark our discussion. Please join us for what promises to be an enlightening show!
Here at "Stage Right"--the show that seeks the conservative voice in theatre--we are pleased and excited to have as our special guest playwright Ludmilla Bollow! Ludmilla's play, "Battle Hymn," was featured at the Republican Theater Festival in Philadelphia in 2012. Listen in as Ludmilla talks about her play, about the Festival, and about the state of conservative theatre in general. Feel free to call into the show at (347) 884-9659 or write to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Don't miss our conversation with this fascinating artist!
Join me and John Jagou as we both discuss the third round of games in the CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage as the New York Red Bulls finally takes their turn to play against Club Deportivo F.A.S. in their first group stage game. The other sides in Liga MX as well.
