PMP: Vince & Bob the Sane - Modern Heathenry, Art & Lore

    in Spirituality

Join RevKess and Kalisara as we discuss modern Heathenry, crafting and historical lore.

Vincent Enlund, aka VikingJack, is the Chieftain of the Wanderer Kindred of Arizona, and has been Asatru since 1988. He founded the Wanderer Kindred of Arizona around 2000. Vince was active with the Asatru Alliance from 2001 to 2013, and worked with other national and international organizations and independent kindreds for more then 16 years. He has been a regular guest speaker and lecturer for about 7 years now at Arizona State University, South Mountain Community Collage, and Scottsdale Community Collage. In 2015, He represented Asatru and Heathenry in the US at the International Asatru Summer Camp and Counsel in Sweden. Vince makes custom contemporary-styled Asatru and Heathen Jewelry under the product brand of American Heathen.

Bob the Sane has been kicking around heathenry for more than 2 decades. Originally from New Mexico, he now lives in Indianapolis, and is a founding member of Mountain Haven Kindred based out of Albuquerque, NM. He is one of the hosts of Raven Radio (http://www.ravenradio.info) a now monthly podcast created and published by a panel of heathens of various stripes. He espouses a tribalist heathen philosophy, which rejects the need for large national organizations in favor of small tribal units and communities. He is (in)famously outspoken on numerous topics, and considers things like the "universalist vs. folkish debate", racism, and homophobia to be incredibly silly, if not downright counterproductive.

This episode contains more adult language than our usual content. We hope you can appreciate the show for what it is. Thank you.

London Records, styled London Recordings in logo, is a record label headquartered in the United Kingdom, originally marketing records in the United States, Canada &Latin America from 1947 to 1979, then becoming a semi-independent label.

London arose from the split in ownership between the British branch of Decca Records &that same company's USA branch; the American London label released British Decca records in the USA, since it could not use the "Decca" name there.

The Life of A Spiritual Wanderer with Kurt Koontz & Edie Weinstein

    in Self Help

Edie Weinstein welcomes Kurt Koontz; author of A Million Steps as they explore the life of a wanderer. Kurt’s experience of taking it on the road was fed by his curiosity about life beyond limits and the deep satisfaction that comes from stretching his comfort zones. The stories he brought back from his journeys allow listeners to have a vicarious experience.

After retiring early from his job as a successful sales executive for a Fortune 500 technology company, Kurt Koontz volunteered in his community and traveled across Europe and North America. He never considered writing a book until he walked nearly 500 miles across Spain in 2012. Those million steps were so compelling that he returned home and began writing and speaking about his life-changing adventures. www.kurtkoontz.com

Alzheimer's Caretaker, Dr. Nate Hare talks about journey wife Dr.Julia Hare

    in Family

The Gist of Freedom is asking you to join us as we support Dr. Nathan Hare and his wife as they struggle with Alzheimer's. http://www.gofundme.com/Let-Her-Be-Free

"Dr. Julia Hare has been living with Alzheimer’s for several years and was she was recently diagnosed with the End Stage of the condition. Her health providers refused to treat her on an outpatient basis without confinement ( if you are determined to leave and expressly “go home,” they label you a “wanderer” and lock the door.  When I would go to see her in her locked situation, at the end of the visiting hour I would have to conspire with the staff to distract her in order for me to ease out the door and slip away without her. On the other side of the slamming door, secured by the loud click of the prison-like lock, I would hear her realizing my exit and banging on the door and calling my namel.”

I took a physician and a lawyer as well as a retired judge and with me and went out and brought her home. Almost as soon as we got home she was getting better.

Although most of her medical costs are now being paid by her health insurance company, the cost of caregivers is staggering and relentless.

Four years ago when we were undeniably blindsided by this diabolical and incurable condition, several persons suggested that I let it be known and accept donations to help preserve the freedom and dignity of the proud and inimitable lady I promised, fifty-seven years ago, to protect and “To Love and to Cherish”.

I am now following their advice and posting this donation request. Although we are advised by the Good Book to share and share alike, keep in mind that it’s the little things that count and, as one of Aesop's fables reminds us, no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."

The Sons of the Pioneers are one of America's earliest Western singing groups whose classic recordings set a new standard for performers of Western music. Known for the high quality of their vocal performances, musicianship, and songwriting, they produced finely-crafted and innovative recordings that have inspired many Western music performers and remained popular through the years. Since 1933, through many changes in membership, the Sons of the Pioneers have remained one of the longest-surviving country music vocal groups in history
