Sunday 29 September - Grassroots Activism and why you should get involved
Immidiately followed by Uncle Bing Fischer on American by Design.
Grassroots activism in education is responsible for birthing the movements that gave us Brown v. Board and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and is now responsible for the recent national focus on standardized testing, racial disparities in student discipline, school closures, and other pressing issues.
My guest, Daniel del Pielago, is an Education Organizer for Empower DC in Washington, D.C. He has dedicated his life to grassroots activism in educating young people, particularly young people in and from under-resourced communities. He will talk to us about how he lives what he wants to see and how he works cooperatively with systems to promote innovative change for children.
Host, Allison R. Brown, is a civil rights attorney and owner of Allison Brown Consulting (ABC).
The bay area celebrated the 25th anniversary of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. I was 14 at the time. Had just finished interviewing for a job at the deli in Montgomery Ward in Bayfair Mall.
In this flashback, we relive what it would have been like, if the new early warning system at UC Berkeley, was around at the World Series. The audio is a simulation of the EWS, and what it would have sounded like on that fateful day.
From there to explore the alternate solution to the same sex marriage debate. I have recently been trolled by many a fellow homosexual for not sharing their "me too" position on rights and privileges,
Presidents will be the downfall of democracy, and civility, peace and mashups. But thank Allah we have Benjamin Netanyahu finally coming to his senses and embracing the Palestinians as their bretheren. All is right with the world.
Quantum physics aside, we are living in a simulation. Possibly. Potentially. Well, put it this way: at present, there is no way to prove that it isn't, or that it is. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Freedom to connect. Aaron Swartz in a moving speech about how grassroots activism and determination stopped a draconian bill on a fast track to being signed. We have to stop SOPA and all other internet censorship bills they try to slide in unnoticed for the future.

Liberty or death? Is that extremism or a reflection of the deep desire of human beings? Shane Krauser, the host of Liberty Storm, talks about the issues of the day and provides serious solutions. Shane covered the following topics:
1. What system of government do we live under? Monarchy, oligarchy, democracy, a republic? Why is it important to define our terms anyways?
2. We often talk about judicial activism. What is it and what do the Federalist Papers say about it?
3. The Obama Administration quitely put out a bid for millions of "Green Cards" in anticipation of immigration reform. What is going on here?
