Turner’s Point follows the fallout from the explosion of the marriage of Dan and Eileen Brockway, including:
· their son’s discovery of his sexual orientation and his true love
· the struggles of Dan, his new bride, and Dan’s longtime friend, Raul, in establishing a new law firm
· the efforts of Eileen and her son to resurrect their shattered lives back in their hometown
· Raul’s reunion with his secret daughter.
In addition to San Diego, Hollywood, and Johnson, Ohio, the story travels to the worlds of Wall Street lawyers and media personalities in New York City.
- “sublime and ridiculously good writing. One can simply groove on the poetic pulse of the language.” James F. Broderick, author of Stalked
WARNING: Turner’s Point contains some sexually explicit material that may be confusing to those who have never had sex and offensive to those who haven’t had it as excitingly as it’s portrayed in the book.
A graduate of Columbia College and Columbia Law School, Gordon Osmond is a retired Wall Street lawyer, a produced playwright, a published author, an online play and book critic, and a lecturer.
Osmond's plays have been professionally produced throughout the United States, where they have received rave reviews and many awards including First Prize in the John Gassner Memorial Playwriting Competition sponsored by the New England Theatre Conference.
Gordon is pleased and honored to interview a leading and prolific author of novels, Jean Joachim.
Jean's odyssey to her present prominence as an author of romance novels is a fascinating story, and her many works are inspirations to those that work in the field.
Listeners are invited to call in during the show at 646-652-2245.
Gordon has chosen for his inaugural guest James F. Broderick, journalist, professor, author of fiction and non-fiction books, and general writing guru. Serious science fiction has made something of a cinematic comeback lately with movies like Gravity and Interstellar earning both crictical acclaim and doing nicely at the box office.
Interstellar has also reintroduced an important and (somewhat neglected) sub-genre, the Big Ideas Movie. But where does it rank compared with the original Big Ideas space movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey?
Author and movie buff PJ Manney joins hosts Phil Bowermaster and Stephen Gordon in talking about whether 2001 now has a worthy successor or has even (is it possible?) been supplanted by Interstellar. Or maybe those two are getting too much attention. What are the other Big Ideas SF movies that everyone should see?
Tune in and explore.
Welcome to another episode of Brain Injury Round Table. I am your host, Constance Miller, brain injury survivor of more than 30 years and Managing Director of Brain Injury Resource Center, located on the Internet at http://www.headinjury.com. At the suggestion of Mr. Tai Campbell, of Taken Back Our Communities Now, http://www.tbocn.org, tonight’s show will look into the development of heightened feeling states following brain injury. Some such heightened feelings take the form of disturbances in the autonomic nervous system. The resulting condition is known as “hyper-arousal” and describes the effect of injury on things such as heart rate and respiration. Another aspect of heightened feeling states is sometimes seen as psychic or extra sensory abilities and in many instances is seen as a gift. Others in this category might feel undone by the sudden onset of such strange reveries and might find themselves pre-occupied by feelings of uncertainty and anxiety.
It is seldom addressed by members of the profession called upon to make us whole, to take us from the point of being "patients" to being people again. Therefore, tonight we’re going to take matters into our own hands. We’ll kick it around, swap stories and delve into another of those taboo topics associated with brain injury.
Join us for another exciting and informative episode of Disability Roundtable. thanks to all our listeners for bringing our voices, to your home, your mobile device wherever you are all around the world. Additionally, I’d like to give a big thank you to this show’s sponsors: Martha Marcum, mother of a brain injury survivor and author of MARTHA'S FABLES and Gordon Johnson, attorney of TBI Law.com. Additionally, we look forward to bringing another sponsor Mia Marcum McCoy, brain injury survivor and author of a brain injury book that she will speak with us about on a future episode.
