This week's author: Wesley “Godfather” Hunter
Born and raised in the streets of Los Angeles, Mr. Wesley “Godfather” Hunter began his journey of gang-banging and crime at a very youthful age. By age 10 he’d already experienced his first arrest and stay in a jail cell. By the age of 12 he’d begun a career of incarceration, which has kept him physically imprisoned for most of his life. Yet, even in this, life has not left him bitter and he continues to strive, finding the strength within himself to overcome against the odds.
Now a 32 year-old aspiring author, currently incarcerated in the California Dept. of Corrections where he is serving out the remainder of a 20 year sentence for commercial armed robbery and 2 counts of attempted murder on sheriff’s deputies, Wesley has used his time wisley. Devoted to spreading the word of change/love and self-respect in his works and titles, he spends most of his time focused on positive writings, thoughts and goals geared towards improving himself, and giving something back to society in the form of insight, experience, and wisdom.
Mr. Godfather has written several novels and an autobiography but has since established his own Urban Diamonds Publishing to release his latest titles. He has started a youth help organization, “The Raw Truth”, to bring forth through the inner city churches and other youth-related programs.
As a long time incarcerated author, who's spent over 20 years seeking an opportunity, to get in the door and be recognized, Godfather, speaks, first hand, to the challenges which have plaqued the West Coast author in general, and the incarcerated West Coast author in particular.
Wesley "Godfather" Hunter is an L.A. native and author of the self-help/howto/ advisory /women's empowerment guide EVERYTHING SHE SHOULD KNOW: What Daddy never told you and Mama never knew. As well as the autobiography TRUE BLUE Parts 1&2: The life and times of a real and true Mafioso. Which journals his travels as a 98 Main Street Mafia Crip, begining in 1979, and takes you into and through the case which leaves him facing 36 counts of robbery, 2 counts of attempted murder on Deputies, a hostage situation and a 12 hr police standoff. He is also the author of the urban erotic short story collection MR.BIG STUFF, EVERYDAY POEMS: For letters & cards, volumes 1-3, and I GOT NEXT.

"The Mad Scientist of Sports" Nick Ficorelli returns. However, this is not the average everyday sports show he is bringing back to the air waves. "The Mad Scientist" has created his own personal sports lab, and you, the audience, as well as many of his special guests, will be his test subjects. He will throw theories out, and you never know where they will be coming from. He will keep everyone guessing, and he will open his lab to any and all comers. Be prepared for "mad science" of sports at its best.
This week on "The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab", our special guest will be the one and only "Godfather of Pro Football Facts" Russell Baxter (@BaxFootballGuru) to talk NFL and the homestretch. Also on the show, we have Allie Fontana (@AllieFontana) back for her "Allie's Fantasy Alley" segment at 10:00pm EST, Matt Zemek (@SectionMZ) of The Student Section at 11:00pm EST for a Heisman Trophy Recap and his take on the College Football Playoff, and MLB Network's Andrew Fish Fain (@TheFish1969) at 11:30pm EST to talk about the fallout from the MLB Winter Meetings and what's next on the baseball horizon.
The beacons are lit, the experiments will be plenty, the test subjects are ready, and "The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab is open for business.

Our History of Christianity Scripture verse today is 1 Timothy 5:3 which reads: "Honour widows that are widows indeed."
Our History of Christianity quote today is from Ignatius of Antioch. He said: "But it is fitting for both men and women who marry to form their union with the approval of the bishop, that their marriage may be according to God, and not after their own lust."
Today, in the History of Christianity, we are looking at "Christian Life" (Part 9) from Dr. Justo L. Gonzalez's fine book, The Story of Christianity (Volume 1).
The Organization of the Church (Part 2)
When speaking of women in the early church, mention should be made of the particular role of widows. The book of Acts says that the primitive church helped support the widows in its midst. This was in part an act of obedience to the repeated Old Testament injunction to care for the widow, the orphan, the poor, and the sojourner. But it was also a matter of practical necessity, for a widow deprived of means of support either had to remarry or to seek refuge with her children. In either case, if the new husband or the child was not a Christian, the widow would be severely limited in her Christian life. Therefore, it soon became customary for the church to support its widows, and to give them particular responsibilities. In an earlier broadcast, the story was told of a widow whose ministry was such that she enraged the pagans, and therefore became a martyr. Other widows devoted themselves to the instruction of catechumens. Eventually, the meaning of the word "widow" within the church changed and came to refer not just to a woman whose husband had died but also to any unmarried woman who was supported by the community and who in turn performed some particular functions within it...
