    Karen launched GlutenFreeTravelSite ( http://glutenfreetravelsite.com ) in 2008 to give the gluten free community a place to share their feedback on gluten free dining and travel within the framework of a database that was organized and searchable by location. Users can search and submit REVIEWS of "gluten free friendly" restaurants (and bakeries, markets, hotels/resorts, and cruises) anywhere around the world. GlutenFreeTravelSite has other resources, including a section dedicated to gluten free reviews of College Dining Services, a page detailing gluten free policies of major Cruise Lines and cruise reviews, and a list of Camps accommodating kids following gluten free diets. Karen launched the Dine Gluten Free mobile app in early 2013 ( http://glutenfreetravelsite.com/mobileresources.php ). The app is free for both iPhone and Android.

    GIG Celebrates its 40th Anniversary - The Gluten Free Voice with Jules

    Back on air after the summer sabbatical, Jules welcomes onto the show again Cynthia Kupper, RN, Executive Director at Gluten Intolerance Group of North America (GIG). Cynthia will be joined by GIG's Director of Social Programs, Sara Vollmer, who will speak about the celebration on November 9th that is planned to honor the organization's 40-year legacy.


    GIG’s Mission is to support persons wih gluten intolerances, celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, and other gluten sensitivities, through consumer and industry services and programs that positively promote healthy lives. Among GIG's programs is their Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO), which certifies products around the world as less than 10 parts per million gluten.


    The show will focus on the history of the GIG organization, the climate in which gluten and celiac disease were viewed when it was formed 40 years ago, and how things have changed in the world of gluten free since then.

    Gluten-Free Nutrition with Rachel Begun, RD on The Gluten Free Voice with Jules

    Rachel Begun joins Jules again, in honor of Celiac Awareness Month. Rachel is a registered dietitian nutritionist living with celiac disease and is a national spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a Scientific/Medical Advisory Board Member for the NFCA and a visiting instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. She is regularly interviewed on the GF diet by major news media, including ABC News, Fox News, USA Today, The Huffington Post, U.S. News & World Report and O The Oprah Magazine.


    Jules and Rachel will discuss the pervasive perception that gluten-free is a "fad" for all but those diagnosed with celiac disease. They will also define the diagnosis of Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity and how that diagnosis is given, and may be determined differently in the very near future.

    Gluten Free Food Now Tastes Delicious! Recipes

Her next book, Gluten-Free Wishlist: Sweet and Savory Treats You Miss the Most, is due out from Chronicle Books in Fall 2015. It will be a broader book, containing many of the things you may ... miss the most!     In honor of Celiac Awareness Month, Jules is honored to again interview Dr. Alessio Fasano, one of the world's foremost experts on Celiac Disease and Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS). Dr. Fasano heads the Center for Celiac Research at Mass General Hospital.


    Jules and Dr. Fasano will discuss the current state of celiac research and development of treatments and therapies, as well as the future of testing for non-celiac gluten sensitivity. In light of recent research studies which seem to question the existence of NCGS, Dr. Fasano will discuss those studies, the application of the low FOMAP diet and the current scientific perspective on NCGS.
