Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1076

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Tim Fisher, a returning NAASCA family member who lives in the Las Vegas area and runs Juvenile Justice Now. Tim, a child abuse survivor, will be with us tonight to describe his experience, strength and hope. Tim was seven years old when he met his predator, a neighbor, teaching Sunday school at the Baptist church. Now Steve Friess has written an article about Tim's important work: One Survivor's Crusade Reveals a Plague of Errors in Nation's Sex Offender Registries. The subtitle: "Estimates of the number of entries with crucial mistakes run into the tens of thousands. One man—and pretty much only one man—is trying to fix them." Tim has told us in the past, "By the time I had reached my 14th birthday I had been sexually molested approximately 350 times over the course of seven years." He continues, "It took four years for me to become strong enough to come forward." Eventually he went to the Anaheim police and reported his abuse and name his predator. From start to finish it took a year almost to the day for him to be convicted. Eventually he took a plea of guilty to 49 counts of child molestation, lewd conducts involving a minor and with the use of force. Sadly although he was sentenced to 2 to 12 years he was released after serving just nine months. "I’m here to remind you that the abuse never stops for the victim," Tim says, "I encourage anyone who has been sexually abused to make a report even if it happened when you were a child." In the recently published article, Steve accompanies Tim to the home of his molester, a registered sex offender.

Lewis Hamilton Wins the Big Bad Battle in Bahrain at the Formula One Grand Prix

    in News

There was plenty of drama when the lights went down at the Formula One Grand Prix in Bahrain.  The night race started with Mercedes pole sitter and champion, Lewis Hamilton out front.  Hamilton was followed by Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, who worked together to block Mercedes second driver, Nico Rosberg, from advancing from third to second, by pushing him back to fourth.  A determined Rosberg was not going to settle for third or fourth, so, in lap nine, Rosberg overtook Raikkonen and Vettel to claim second, while Hamilton remained the leader of the pack.

In lap 35 when Rosberg emerged from a pit stop, Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel leap frogged and got out in front, but could not stay there. Meanwhile, both Toro Rosso drivers Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. were retired.

By lap 47, it was Hamilton, Rosberg, Raikkonen, Bottas and Vettel in the top five.  Going into the final 7 laps, there was a fierce battle between Nico Rosberg and Kimi Raikkonen for second. Moving into lap 56 Raikkonen overtook Rosberg and claimed second, pushing Rosberg into third.  On the podium after the race, Raikkonen was disappointed that he had to settle for second, while fans wondered out loud if he was deluding himself into thinking he could have caught up with, and overtaken Hamilton, in the unstoppable Mercedes power unit.

Crossing the finish line after the top three was Valtteri Bottas in fourth, Sebastian Vettel fifth, and Daniel Ricciardo who, barely made it across the finish line amidst a huge cloud of smoke bellowing from the back of his car.

Late Breaking News: The F1 race in Monza may be hanging in the wings. Like Germany, Monza has money problems.  The German automotive industry VW-Audi, did a study that showed tremendous support for an Audi F1 team, but, they dislike Bernie Egglestone so much, they refused to enter F1 as long as he is in control.

    #Selfie Stick: Cool or Narcissistic?

    in Pop Culture

Although these aren't new, I'm starting to see them around more often.  From offices in Corporate America to people walking down the street, a lot of us just can't seem to walk away from a photo opportunity.  Now I like taking photos just as much as the next person, but I'm not one to take too many of myself.  I just don't have a desire to do that although I have taken more as of late than previously.

But, I definitely do not take time to stop the flow of traffic just for a photo op of myself.  A lot of people who take selfies do just that.  There's no regard to what's going on around them.  Only a chance to have yet another "look at me" moment.  Is that fair or foul to criticize?  We'll discuss that and more on tonight's Talk 2 Q Radio Show.  "No experts.  Just opinions."

    Scheduled for 75-90 mins.

4 20 Verses Medical Marijuana on the ghetto truth in Stereo

    in Health

When men make unjust laws about a natural plant which cures, correct pain and relaxes the human body more than any Pharma drug could, I say, “Spark It!”, and for some Cancer patients who are grateful to get their THC’s in bakery goods, teas, candy, or etc., enjoy it. Anyone who has ever been in pain could advocate this, because if you could imagine someone being in pain 24-7, this natural plant, is the savior. The lawmakers become politically pompous when they have their fingertips in the industry of Medical Marijuana and at the same time, you’re in jail if you’re not purchasing cannabis from the .GOV.

There are about 23 states Medical Marijuana could be found and no surprise here, there are no Bible Belt states included in the 23.  4 20 is coming and for a lot of people, every day is 4 20 and on your next hit, say a prayer for the lawmakers and affirm they take a puff and ease up.  On the ‘ghetto truth’ in stereo, we’re going to talk about some pros and myths in the use of Hemp and Cannabis. This segment is open discussion and a Non users opinion of 4 20 and Medical Marijuana are welcome  of course, so tune into the ghetto truth in stereo and see what shows up out of the dark.

"Damn, You Talk Too Much!" - COCKTAIL CONVERSATIONS - David Glover on KLJN 107.7

    in Radio

Research say women speak 20,000 words a day compared to men who speak 7000 words, is there ever a time when women should stop talking and just listen, damn just SHUT UP PLEASE, we will be looking at a scenario with this being the case.
    DAMN, YOU TALK TOO MUCH!
Ezra and Wanda have been dating for 6 months and both are career minded and focused. Ezra was an Assistant Director at a Juvenile Detention Home while Wanda was a Social Worker at a Nursing Home. Despite their demanding jobs both had their passions. Ezra was working on developing a Urban Tee Shirt Business,  Wanda was one of the best jewelry makers around, due to their demanding jobs and their other businesses they barely had time to see each other on a consistent basis but when they spoke on the phone, Wanda dominated the entire conversation, if they set aside a hour to catch up on what's been going on in each others life, Wanda would dominate, but her input would be negative, complaints about her job, family, jewelry business, and ex husband. Eventually Ezra grew tired of listening to this same old song over and over. He was looking for balance.  Someone he could share his world with and that was not happening with Wanda. When he wanted her to talk between the sheets she was typically quiet, go figure!!!. Eventually they had a massive blow up when Ezra had enough and told Wanda she talks too damn much and he did not want to hear another damn thing about her Ex, and nothing negative about her job... in this day and age she should be blessed she is working. Wanda felt he was rude and they ended what they had. Do you think Ezra was insensitive and Wanda was better off without Ezra?

    The Know Your Rights Hour

    in Health

Join Vaccine Rights Attorney Alan Phillips, J.D. (co-host Dr. Sherri Tenpenny is still on sabbatical) as he discusses the end of vaccine religious exemptions in Australia, and how powerful American freedom of religion is, at least for now; an article claiming that the Head of the FBI's anthrax investigation (post 9/11) was a sham; how best to get a legal argument to your state representative, when the legal argument explains why a vaccine bill seeking to restrict non-medical exemptions is unconstitutional, to discourage the representative from supporting the bill; why some state constitutions may require the state to offer a religious exemption even though the federal Constitution probably does not; whether or not language in some state constitutions about religious liberty includes philosophical beliefs; and more!
