Here we will take the opportunity to discuss and examine a variety of occasions where it might be said George Washington had Gods hand upon him. He being either a direct/indirect beneficiary of countless miraculous events prevailing against odds no one could hope to survive. The example of the Military Academy of WestPoint being saved by a serious of remarkable events is worth the telling. We even get the renowned Benedict Arnold in the mix in this story.
These against all odds occasions happened to such an extent that miracles from God may well be the best explanation. We will discuss the distinct possibility that miracles from God happened throughout George Washington’s storied life for his and the world’s benefit. I maintain when we are done here any fair minded believer as well as non-believer will admit miracles occurred.
Then again we will look at the possible miracles associated with his many victories. Either winning or running George Washington it would appear had supernatural help.
While we’re on this supernatural journey we’ll spend some time examining and discussing the possibility of George Washing having occasional visions. These alleged visions are somewhat harder to prove but I think are worth discussing. One question is did an angelic figure actually tell George Washington about three great perils that will come upon the Republic?
Then there are the occasions where General Washington traversed the woods and upon his return mentioned “Green Faced Ones”. These green faced ones were never actually identified as any of the known tribes. This may have been for security reasons or it may be that the General did not know who they were. We do know that he reportedly said they provided crucial intelligence to him about the British Army. Some have speculated they may have been “Extra Terrestrials”.
George Washington must have been the most reluctant boy to man to become a hero to his countrymen: as an adventurer, surveyor, statesman, general, president or renowned distiller of his still famous bourbon recipe - George Washington's “White Dog”.
When looking at the life of this great American one begins to wonder if God above set him aside as a man of his times and one as an example for the ages. I ask you how many teenage boys ever put together a book much less one on rules for civility. He surveyed one Virginia’s natural wonders at Natural Bridge as a teenager as well.
It could easily be argued that without George Washington not only would the colonies have lost the war for independence; they would not have been able to keep an army together to defend this new nation. He then goes on to keep these new United States of America from becoming just one more Monarchy vs an elected and term limited presidency.
George Washington really desired one thing during his entire life. He wanted to live with his wonderful wife Martha and develop Mount Vernon on the Potomac River into their home and a thriving plantation. Something he rarely was given the chance to pursue as history continuously beckoned George Washington - the reluctant Hero.
Dr. Chaps reports on these important issues:
* Was George Washington a man of prayer? On May 7 members of the US Congress will hold a massive prayer meeting to honor his faith.
* Interview with historian Bill Federer about religious freedom.
* Viral video about the Jewish feast of Purim.
George Washington our first President of the United States of America Looking at George Washington’s two terms as President wraps up our series on his extremely interesting story and contribution to us all. Particularly his role in forming a government with three separate and co-equal branches of government. He and the other founders held very definite views on what would happen if we allowed future leaders to distort our three branches of government.
The people, as sovereign, retain ultimate rights to interpret, enforce, amend, and abolish the Constitution. We are not bound by unconstitutional edicts from state or federal governments. The basis of our political system is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government. — George Washington
Why did our Founding Fathers design a government divided into three separate but Co – Equal Branches of Government?
Why did our Founding Fathers design our particular type of Constitution and later introduce amendments now known as “The Bill of Rights?”
[T]he opinion which gives to the judges the right to decide what laws are constitutional and what not, not only for themselves, in their own sphere of action, but for the Legislature and Executive also in their spheres, would make the Judiciary a despotic branch. — Thomas Jefferson
We are going to answer these questions and will look at where we are today relative to these two questions. There are reasons our leaders decided to change our original systems design and none of them have anything to do with “We the People”.
On this day in 1775, Continental Army commander in chief General George Washington condemns his troops' planned celebration of the British anti-Catholic holiday, Guy Fawkes Night, as he was simultaneously struggling to win French-Canadian Catholics to the Patriot cause. In his general orders for the day, Washington criticized "that ridiculous and childish custom of burning the Effigy of the pope," part of the traditional Guy Fawkes celebration. He went on to express his bewilderment that there could be "Officers and Soldiers in this army so void of common sense" and berated the troops for their inability to recognize that "defence [sic] of the general Liberty of America" demanded expressions of "public thanks" to the Canadian Catholics who Washington believed to be necessary allies, and wrote that he found "monstrous" any actions, which might "be insulting their Religion."
Those who deny George Washington’s connections to the Jesuits and being involved with a hidden Luciferian New World agenda need to read the following article reprinted below from a Catholic publication. Those critics need also examine the Washington family crest, which Washington displayed proudly on his uniform during the American Revolution.
