Mr. Threlkeld graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering. He currently manages central utility contracts in North America and GM’s global renewable energy strategy. Prior positions held include managing the Powerhouse and Wastewater Treatment Plant operations at GM’s Lords town Assembly Complex. Mr. Threlkeld is a member of several professional organizations and holds the following certifications: CEM, BEP, CSDP, and CHMM.
General Motors Real Estate and Facility Group are responsible for a wide range of support activities for GM Manufacturing Operations. Included in this are procurement of utilities, managing real estate transactions, engineering/construction of existing or new facilities, assets sustainment of existing GM equipment and facilities, procurement of renewable energy and energy conservation services, as well as managing site environmental permits, such as air and water. The organization has received the delegation of authority from GM Global Purchasing to be the direct purchaser of services mentioned above. The Real Estate and Facilities organization is located in Warren, MI.

Is social media killing your BOP? Small business and medium businesses have grown to rely on social media to help them brand, "connect" and sell thier services. Some businesses pay to "boost" thier posts for a seemingly larger reach, increase thier fan bases and elevate the awareness of thier BOP. Most believe that though the stats are promising, they are not effective. Many businesses are awaking to a space of confusion, dissapointment and discouragement over things like lack of reach, connection and interactions with thier brands. Many people have seen a sharp decline in the amount of people who see thier posts. Many people have put so much time into social media that they are killing thier businesses. Social media is an illusion. Yes....it is "social" Yes, people (about 6%) will see your posts but even General Motors with 50,000 fans has realized that there is no more money and time to be wasted in trying to build the brand with face book.
We Business Hippies have awoken from this illusion as well. We are leaving face book in 2015 and we already have cut it down to no more than 20 minutes a day for our whole social media portfolio. We realized that we were killing our business through our reliance on facebook to carry our networking weight. The truth is, no one in your news feed really cares, they are not going to buy your products enough to sustain your business, They are likely to not even see your posts. "They" are not the problem. We are. So tonight we will chat about this honestly. Where we went wrong, how we have damaged our business and what we are going to do to thrive in this ADD nation. Join in the conversation!

General elections favors people resulting in angry republicans. Midterm elections favors Republicans resulting in republicans saying the people want us to rule. Republicans rule is to favors the top 1% of wealthies of Americans. There are 80% of Americans sharing 7% of the entire wealth of the nation. Surely this is not enough for you and your children? With no jobs, no increase in wages, no healthcare, will you be able to leave to your children more than or at least as much as your parents left to you? Are you content to live with less than what is required to retire and live comfortably? Hold people in leadership roles accountable. Work to gain the best of America for self and family. Fail to require more get less. Immigrants come to America expecting more. They leave their homeland and come and gain rewards from jump street. Immigrants get jobs with good pay and Americans remain jobless. Immigrants claim more for themselves and their families. Politicians and CEOs reap monetary rewards, and Americans sulk and complain and settlle for whatever crumbs thrown from the tables of politicians. Demand more gain more. Politicians focus is on 2016 elections. Not on Americans jobs, not wages, not healthcare!
Kwanzaa was created to reaffirm and restore our rootedness in African culture. It is, therefore, an expression of recovery and reconstruction of African culture which was being conducted in the general context of the Black Liberation Movement of the '60's and in the specific context of The Organization Us, the founding organization of Kwanzaa and the authoritative keeper of its tradition. Secondly, Kwanzaa was created to serve as a regular communal celebration to reaffirm and reinforce the bonds between us as a people. It was designed to be an ingathering to strengthen community and reaffirm common identity, purpose and direction as a people and a world community. Thirdly, Kwanzaa was created to introduce and reinforce the Nguzo Saba (the Seven Principles.) These seven communitarian African values are: Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity), and Imani (Faith). This stress on the Nguzo Saba was at the same time an emphasis on the importance of African communitarian values in general, which stress family, community and culture and speak to the best of what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense. And Kwanzaa was conceived as a fundamental and important way to introduce and reinforce these values and cultivate appreciation for them.
