Crossover appeal is a key to success in America's diverse society. Tonight we take a look at the phenomenal success of the Supremes, the iconic 1960's Motown group. They helped to shatter the racial barriers of their day thanks in large part to both raw talent coupled and the ability to take their soulful, R&B sound to a national audience. But success brought its own problems to the group, as it does to so many today. We take a look at the promise and pitfalls of the crossover phenomenon on today's political scene.
Dr. Joseph Kenneth Boettcher has his Doctoral Degree in New Thought Ministry and has worked diligently for years teaching astral projection students around the globe. At the group and individual level, he shares with those truly committed to higher learning within the spiritual paths of enlightenment. His focus remains on teaching the student to leave the body first, that they might receive their personal and unique experience of spiritual education. He seeks, at heart, to impart the understanding that within the astral state there is no mediator between the seeker and the experience of spiritual education.
Joseph was also one of the founding members of The Light Body Travelers Society, an international community of spiritual practitioners and astral travelers. Also, as a member of The International Order of the Gnostic Templars, Joseph is passionate and active in sharing the ancient mysteries of Gnosis and Goddess traditions. He continues to teach the forgotten mysteries at the individual level, as well as through intimate gatherings. His deeply felt philosophy that personal truth can only develop through personal experience and that by learning to astral project, this experience may commence, and self-illumination may begin, continúes to inspire and elevate consciousness within his circles.

Being a hippie is not a matter of dress, behavior, economic status, or social milieu. It is a philosophical approach to life that emphasizes freedom, peace, love and a respect for others and the earth. The way of the hippie never died. There have always been hippies from the first time society laid down rules, to Jesus, to Henry David Thoreau, to John Lennon, to you. There’s a little hippy in all of us. It’s just been repressed by our socialization process. We need to find it and cultivate our hippie within. Only then can we reach our true potential. Elightenment comes from smoking weed of course, but what makes you a Hippie?

This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forebearers. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. Ashay!
February is Black History month. As the month begins to move forward...I was recently asked a question of whether or not we are making in strides in expanding the knowledge base on Black History? Are we better or worse off than we have been in the past? Do we need to make changes...and, if so, what changes and how can they be made? With the current state of race relations in our society...is this even a feasible idea? If you have a perspective...call in and share!
What's going on ? The most famous singer in the world is now being called a racist ? We gotta talk about all this stuff. Give me a call cause this topic is gonna be HOT !!!!!
