Join with me today as we see look deeply into the biblical story of the “Wedding at Cana”. To be sure, this is more than just a wedding! As we study this more deeply, we find very progressive and relevant moments, such as, family issues, gender differences, and an amazing miracle. To many Academician’s and Biblical scholars we use the word ‘Miracle” much to loosely, this may be true. However, I believe God is always glorified when we credit him with something that is “miraculous” to us. The “Wedding at Cana” is a story both beautiful in its outcome, and rich in its life lessons. I know you will be encouraged and inspired to see that God can, will, and wants, to do miracles in your life!

It is clear that there have been several high profile paleros who were gay. Are gay paleros a reality or are those who claim to be gay and practice Palo misinformed or frauds?
Is the common insistance that Palo is incompatible with homosexuality inherent to the African religious tradition or has the religion been influenced by Latin American concepts of machismo?

Female Genital Mutilation is internationally recognized as a violation of the human rights of girls and women. An estimated 230,000 women and girls are at risk for female genital mutilation in the U.S. annually. Around the world, 8000 girls are victims of FGM daily. Up to 140 million girls and women worldwide are currently living with the consequences of FGM.
Female genital mutilation has been illegal in the United States since 1996, and transporting girls out of the U.S. for FGM is now punishable by five years in jail, but the procedure is still performed in private, and it has gone largely underground.

There always seems to be a Constant battle between what MEN are supposed to do and what WOMEN are supposed to do. Men are said to Only be able to do certain things, and the same goes for WOMEN... But the Real Question is Why???
Instead of working together to solve our issues we single out Women and Men. Why Men do this or Why Women do this. It needs to be Why do We do this.
Join us and help us discuss why there is always division between the sexes instead of Cohesiveness!

Kirk and the "Uncanny" Daryll B. wax about the following issues: Dburt is incensed that MJ's Neverland Ranch is for sale (100m, allegedly) without being ascribed National Historic Landmark status; a recent Daily Beast article weighs in on the Marvel vs Fox Fantastic Four/X-men licensing beef; and speaking of Fox, it appears that the famed studio is looking to reboot The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen IP; Robert Rodriguez has been reportedly tapped to helm a Jonny Quest live action film (please no Spy Kids interpolation!); we finally get the chance to delve into DC's Convergence vs Marvel's Secret Wars; Image's Wicked+Divine are slated for a TV adaptation; Anyone notice the Nova Corp of color storyline in the latest Infinity Gauntlet comic this week? And lastly, we will attempt to address topics missed from our last broadcast. Call in live at 646-915-9620.

Curtis Ellis says, imagine a world where American courts and laws are overruled by international tribunals (who are not elected by American citizens!)... That's Obama's plan with Obamatrade (TPP). U.S. military says reaction times are seriously delayed because their hands are tied. They can't move as quickly as they need to to address threats. This is a problem!
Feminists will find offense in anything, especially if it encourages man-bashing. First it's manspreading, now it's mansplaining.
Transgender Canadians are pushing to abolish gender references from birth certificates. You can't just make an assumption based on a quick peek at a baby's privates anymore!
Hr3 Salon says our U.S. Military is a national security threat. Thank God (and our military!) for free speech. In other countries, they'd be wiped out or jailed!

Join Alex Primo and Asha Zuri Thursday May 28th at 9 pm EST as we dissect, debate, and discuss the secret that Black folks don't talk about ... Depression in our community.
One in ten Americans will be affected by some form of Depression during their lifetime, usually caused by a major life event such as divorce, unemployment, poor health, or a death in the family. And depression is fast becoming a worldwide issue for the health industry.
How does this affect Black America specifically? Well, it has been noted by researchers that those living in poverty, us, are two and a half times more likely to experience depression. Additionally, 90% of Black males who suffer from this condition seek no treatment. On top of that women are more likely to experience depression than men, so consequently that means that Black women are suffering the most from this ailment.
“I’ve tried to commit suicide over 15 times. I have the scars on my arms of wanting to kill myself and not even know why,” said 45-year-old Tracey Hairston, a member of the health center who has bipolar disorder.
A report published by researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that poverty, parenting, racial and gender discrimination put Black women — particularly low-income Black women — at greater risk for major depressive disorder (MDD).
Now that we know the problem, let's talk solutions brothers and sisters.
