Even the strongest relationships are strained during the transition to parenthood. Lack of sleep, never-ending housework and new fiscal concerns can lead to profound stress and a decline in marital satisfaction – all of which affect baby’s care. Not surprisingly, 69% of new parents experience conflict, disappointment and hurt feelings. Couples can learn how to prepare for life with their new baby and how to be the best parenting team possible by finding new ways to strengthen their relationship, and foster their baby’s development during this challenging time.
In her English-speaking counseling practice in Milan, Italy, Karen Rigatti helps couples with relationship issues, parenting of a new baby and culture shock and other challenges faced by expats. As a certified professional counselor, she specializes in working with clients on stress management, anxiety, life transitions (marriage, divorce, new parenthood), work-related conflicts, couples therapy, and cross cultural issues. Her office is centrally located in the Bocconi University area, overlooking Parco Ravizza.
Karen has made Milan her home since 2008. Originally from the US, she specializes in helping other English-speakers improve their quality of life through professional counseling.
Originally from Arlington, Virginia, Karen graduated with a degree in Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She transferred to San Francisco and then London, before moving to Milan where she lives with her two daughters who were born here.
Karen is a member of both the American Counseling Association and AssoCounseling in Italy, holding a Master’s degree in Counseling from the Centro Berne in Milan.

What makes the deviance of homosexuality any different from any other sexual deviancy, or socially destructive action or lifestyle?
The arguments are WEAK! And I haven’t ever heard a sound or scientific justification for what makes practicing being gay “Ok” or “Right”?!? Will someone please explain to me what makes the support and promotion and active lifestyle healthy and permeable? Why are we doing it?
Today’s society is downright championing for the homosexual agenda in the way that they reward, praise and even mislabel it “bravery” for people choosing to publicly live an active homosexual lifestyle! They say the most ignorant things like: “If you aren’t gay then how does it affect you…” about things like gay marriage and social propaganda!
I feel this is life going to #HellInAHandBasket on the #HellExpress at that! This has been the most demonic act I’ve seen thus far! I want someone to explain to me logically and practically why this lifestyle is “ok” and what it is that I am overlooking in my critical perspectives and assessments about it?
Call in and share your knowledge and wisdom with the world! (347)637-3528 Midnight till 2AM Eastern time…

We are grateful and honored to have as a very special guest, Mwalimu Baruti to discuss Complimentarity of Afrikan coupling. The choices and decisions that guide how we go about coupling, chosing a mate, and creating families are very important and have an impact, not just on the individual but, the families, community and nation as a whole. For those who are truly serious about nation building, this is an important topic of discussion whether or not one is single, married, divorced, or anywhere in between.
The Afrikan Family is under attack and we must unify in mind, spirit, body and purpose. The couple is the bedrock of the nation which is built by families that couples build and thus form society upon which a nation is built. As we strive toward self determination and building apart from our oppressors and return to true Black Afrikan Power!
"It [is] imperative that we carefully choose our mates for Afrikan reasons. We must choose with vision. For we are the vanguard. We are soldiers in love with forming beautiful families, rearing happy, thinking children, building strong, lasting communities, raising a mighty nation and removing all enemies. For Afrikan warrior scholar complements, there is no other reason for being." -Mwalimu Baruti
In all of my many discussions about this topic, No one has ever provided me with substantial evidence to prove/disprove the answer to this topic. With so many theories and philosophies about homosexuality, I'd like to hear your views about whether or not someone can be born gay. As a matter of fact, can someone be born straight? Is sexuality something that you're born with? This is dialogue is not to condemn people on their choices, but instead, it's to gather thoughts of your understanding. Is sexuality based on environment and upbringing, or is it something biological? At what point/age does sexual desires begin to arise?
I look forward to a great, and informative dialogue. Tune in from 9pm-11pm est, to "Darryel's Daily Dialogue...where positive words, manifest positive actions.
