    Is Trans the New Gay?

    in LGBT

Kudos to the Transgender community for finally getting the positive spotlight they deserve. Celebrities Janet Mock, Laverne Cox, Chaz Bono and Caitlyn Jenner have truly helped kick down doors and ignite thought provoking conversations about another aspect of human sexuality. However, some of the media exposure seems a bit contrived and competitive as if networks are trying to 'one-up' the other by including a Trans topic or character in their programming.

Most recently rumors spread of the Real Housewives of Atlanta adding a Trans person to their cast. That being said, are Black gay men no longer the hot ticket on reality television. Has their season runs its course, and if so is it wise for the Trans community to try to fill that void? Will it devalue their struggle or take things to the next level.

This is going to be a very exciting conversation with special guests Tyesse Jackson and Kentay Williams.

Andrew Goldstein's big 10 years. Homophobia in the referee world.

    in LGBT

In 2004, then-Dartmouth lacrosse goalie Andrew Goldstein wrote a powerful piece for Outsports about coming out to his lacrosse team. Since then, Andrew has played professional lacrosse, moved to Los Angeles, got married and is now on his way to curing cancer. Earlier this year he met Braeden, a young lacrosse player who was struggling with being gay. Goldstein knew he had to do something to help Braeden. This Sunday, Aug. 30, ESPN will air the story of Andrew, Braeden and the Courage Game that helped save young Braeden's life. We'll talk to Andrew about the story and his last 10 years.

This week a closeted gay high school football official in Louisiana wrote about his experiences there with homophobia and sexism. More and more gay officials are now talking with us about the environment they face from fans and from their fellow referees. We'll talk about the forgotten corner of the sports world and how we'll make it better.

Christ, Son of God, Messiah, King of Kings

    in Christianity

Other religions say Jesus was a great teacher, even a prophet, but not the Son of God.  Why should another religion care what Christianity offers?  Could it be that the hate is coming from a deeper place?

Mental health and the shooter - Trump read the bible?

    in Politics

Hr1  WDBJ on air shooting today. When are we going to have a serious conversation about mental health? Guns don't kill people. Sick people kill other people.

Eric Golub weighs in on the recent shootings... Quarantine mentally ill people. They are a danger. Stop showing more compassion for those harming others than law-abiding citizens.

Liberal Jews are liberals first, Jews second. Only 151 rabbis who signed onto Iran Deal have congregations or rabbinical duties. They're academics with a title.

Hr2  Do you think Donald Trump is living his life according to the Bible?

Donald Trump was 1st person to ever score perfect 100 during one of Frank Luntz focus groups. Is he virtually invincible?

Joe takes a listener call talking God, Christianity, and more.

Hr3  Jobs reports... layoffs, closures, ... Oh sure, the economy is recovering. Tell that to the little towns being wiped out.

ACLU launches lawsuit to force Catholic hospitals to provide sterilization services. So much for civil liberties!

Black, gay reporter murders white, straight journalists and media blames the gun. Hate crime, anyone?!

Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?

There are always at least two sides to every story. Have you ever wondered how someone, who saw the same thing you did, walked away telling a vastly different story? Which version was correct? Which one was the REAL story? Actually, both are! It’s just a matter of perspective.

Joe takes the issues… especially the controversial issues (politics, prejudice, religion, illegal immigration)… and brings in people from different sides to share their viewpoint. This is definitely not a fluff piece. And while no one is attacked, the questions are hard-hitting.
