Former Wisconsin and Kansas football player Brad Thorson came out publicly on Independence Day in a post on his blog titled "Seeing through the fog."
Thorson joins us to talk about his experiences in college football and his brief stint in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals, his coming out process and the reaction he's received, and finding a home in the sports world with the San Francisco Fog gay rugby team. He'll be traveling to Australia for the Bingham Cup later this year.
Oakland, CA – To proudly announce to the people you love the truth of who you really are can only be seen as a triumph, but there is, sadly, another side of the closet: the untold chapter of gay liberation.
Lingering prejudices and the prevailing belief that marriage is between a man and a woman have compelled many gays and lesbians to enter heterosexual marriages and even start families. For many of these individuals living an incongruent life has become unsustainable and ultimately reveal to their spouse the truth about their sexuality.
When revelations such as these occur within committed relationships, the consequence is often one of utter devastation for the straight spouse; it’s a combination of shock, disbelief, rejection, betrayal, and above all confusion. The trauma is only amplified when there are children who will be affected.
“Of course these individuals should be applauded for coming out, but when they do, their straight spouse go into their own closet,” says Dr. Amity Pierce Buxton author of The Other Side of the Closet: A Coming Out Crisis for Straight Spouses and Families and founder of the Straight Spouse Network. “Their moral compass has been shattered. They can’t trust their own judgment anymore. They need a whole new belief system that will give them meaning and purpose for living.”
The Straight Spouse Network is a non-profit, worldwide organization that provides support and research-based information to men and women whose spouses have revealed they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.
“It’s a period of mourning for who they were and how they identified themselves in relation to another person,” says Dr. Buxton. “They need to know they’re not alone and they can get through it. We can listen to you as a pe

Join us as we shine the spotlight on the world’s sauciest authors dedicated to the realms of BDSM, GLBT, and Erotica. Write On the Edge (or WOE) asks the questions few dare, but we all want the answers to. It pushes the limits and creates the standard of steamy, intelligent converse. But keep in mind. . . it’s called “Write on the Edge” for a reason. (aka This show is not for the faint of heart!)
This weeks’s Featured Author is . . . Ethan Stone is an author, gay man, father and grandfather (in no particular order). His attitude is “life changes when you don’t expect it. A recent job loss means more changes than I was ready to make so this bio will be a work in progress, just like my life”. He has alway loved to write and one point thought journalism was his dream career. He eventually accepted that writing because he had to was nowhere near as much fun doing it because he wanted to. Stories starring gay men have always been in his head but thought they would always be relegated to erotica websites. And then he discovered the wonderful world of M/M publishing.
You can buy all his books through his website, ETHAN'S WEBSITE

"Read Looking After Joey with the expectation of laughing throughout, but there’s more to it than that. The social commentary is razor sharp, and the ultimate destination is surprisingly moving." - 'Nathan Burgoine, Out in Print
From the author of Bob the Book -- a funny, fast-paced, touching tale of love, laughter, family of choice and fabulousness!
Wouldn’t it be great if a character stepped out of the TV, into your life? Well, be careful what you wish for, because that’s how Calvin and Peachy end up looking after Joey. And teaching him everything he needs to know to be be a gay man in New York City. The big test? A fabulous party on Fire Island. But first, they have to get invited. This will involve a rogues’ gallery of gay Manhattanites, including portly, perspiring publicist Bunce van den Troell; theatrical investor Sir Desmond Norma; priapic publisher Stuart Bergman; and lubricant king Fred Pflester. Tender, witty and utterly deranged, Looking After Joey will make you wish that you, too, had a character at your kitchen table asking, “So, when can I have sex?”

So many accomplishments Asenshion has achieved and I am very happy for her because of all that she has endured throughout her life. She will help us answered the unexplained and help cure the curious. Questions that we all may have wanted to ask, but never wanted to ask. Now is the time for that to finally come to a stop.
