I am so excited to have EFT Founder Gary Craig as my special quest on this show. In 2008 I attended a full-day workshop in Albuquerque, New Mexico with Gary. His topic was Surrogate Tapping, and the event was sponsored by the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP). Gary's workshop demonstrated to me the incredible value not only of Surrogate Tapping, but also of borrowing benefits. He set up the day by having each of us (100 people) write down the name of the person we were focusing our tapping on throughout the day. I wrote down my daughter's name. She had been estranged from our family for over 6 months, and it was heartbreaking. My intention was that all the tapping in the room was sending love energy to my daughter. Within just a few hours of arriving home in Colorado, I received a call from my daughter. That call was the beginning of the healing journey for our family.
Gary will discuss some of the issues around Surrogate Tapping, such as whether or not permission is required. Several other things happened that day and one of them was so stunning that it would be difficult NOT to believe in the healing power of Surrogate Tapping.
Gary will also have the opportunity to share his Optimal EFT and discuss how spiritual principles are so important in conjunction with EFT. His background in A Course In Miracles mirrors my own, and it thrills me that he is taking EFT in this direction.

Eloisa Ramos welcomes Gary Craig, who founded EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and made it available to the world in 1995. EFT uses tapping with your fingertips on acupuncture meridians to release blocked energy/emotions. Gary is also an avid A Course in Miracles student since 1986. He shares his story of how he came to be a student and his “stunning” and “exquisite” experience of being in the presence of the Creator in 1988.
Gary explains, “The real value of EFT, the longer term piece of it is not to give us, what the Course sometimes calls, ‘a better version of the dream’.” When EFT was introduced to the public, he says, “The real goal, in my view, was to clear away, to do what comes up at the very beginning of ACIM; we want to remove the blocks to the awareness of Love’s presence.”
Gary is now developing Optimal EFT to remove those blocks to Love’s presence even more optimally. “Optimal aims at recognizing this is a dream, and there is nothing to forgive. Everybody is either exhibiting love or calling for love, a very important topic in A Course in Miracles”. Gary explains to us how ACIM sees forgiveness, differently than the standard everyday use of it.
Gary’s ultimate longing is to use Optimal EFT as a tool to take him back to this state of unbounded Love which he experienced briefly in time. He recognizes this is his path and is not preaching to convert others to his way.

Gary Craig is the founder of the Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). In this rare audio interview, he is joined by Change Your Mind! Transformational Dialogue Radio host, Dr Craig Weiner. Together they explore a personal perspective on the origins and inspiration for EFT's creation, his current view on the practice of EFT and his vision for where it will go. Gary has been intensely interested in personal improvement via psychology since age13. That was when he recognized that the quality of his thoughts was mirrored in the quality of his life. Since then he has been self taught in this field, seeking procedures that he felt produced results. He considers EFT, the core of which he learned from Dr. Roger Callahan, to be an important tool to achieving the highest levels of healing. He also has high regard for Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) in which he is a Certified Master Practitioner. In addition, Gary holds an engineering degree from Stanford University, a passion for A Course in Miracles and is an ordained minister through Universal Church of God in Southern California, which is non-denominational and embraces all religions. Brain Injury Support groups save lives, build communities and give meaning to a life affected by brain injury
Many who think about groups, think it may just be coffee and a donut but they are so much more than that, groups for many are the only connection to society, any connection to any other person that is not a medical profession or pharmacist dish out medicines.
Groups get people into the community if their facilitated right, doing healthy activities such as yoga, meditation and nutrition and exercise. They can help survivors and their families find a purpose that has meaning. Even after years of being stuck in hopeless mode. It saves lives, for many survivors who first discover others who have the same challenges, it can be the first glimpse of hope. Hope that life is not only about loss and pain. Hope that life can have meaning. No other services available to those living with a brain injury can inspire hope like peer support.
We are doing this episode to share with any and all who ever want to limit support groups, we need people to understand the power in Peer support groups, the power to rebuild life, and dreams..
