Rachel was born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. She was born to entertain anyone in her path. Message from host, Mike Bova: Alonzo Bodden and Rob Reyes were both supposed to be on this show, but because of some technical issues, they were not able to make it on.
This show is approximately 37 minutes. It's me and Will Gonzalez talking about Pretty Funny People. We also discuss how cartoons (like Dora the Explorer) are not supposed to be educational. We're supposed to be watching cartoons like Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry.
We talk about the reason why America Runs On Dunkin'. Horror movies also sneak their way into the discussion. Tic Tacs get some free advertising and we even mention Pepe Le Pew and the green cloud of stench.
Tune into the show. It was a lot of fun, and it's already had rave reviews. Thank you!
The show will be co-hosted by one of the Funny Business regulars, comedian Chris Young. In February 2003, halfway through his second year at Georgetown University Law Center, J-L Cauvin went to a bar near his apartment and watched an amateur showcase of comedians. J-L began inquiring how he could get some stage time and after following some leads he began performing at open mics at the end of that academic year. Quickly developing a knack for it, J-L was named Washington D.C.’s funniest college student, despite not really being a college student, in March 2004 at a sold out show at the D.C. Improv. After moving back to his native New York upon graduation from GULC in May 2004, J-L continued to work harder and harder as a comic, all while working as an Assistant District Attorney during the day in the Bronx and later as a litigator at Blank Rome LLP. He has received multiple invitations to the Boston Comedy Festival, traveled the country as a feature act and was featured on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and NESN’s Comedy All Stars. His act is as diverse as his Haitian and Irish family and touches upon topics ranging from current events to relationship troubles to several dead-on impressions, including Barack Obama. J-L’s has released three CDs, 2006’s Racial Chameleon, 2008’s Diamond Maker, and 2012′s Too Big To Fail. He has also been featured in the book The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Jokes.
Comedian Ritch Shydner has made numerous appearances on the David Letterman and Jay Leno shows, and before that Johnny Carson.
He played Al Bundy’s co-worker on “Married with Children,” and made guest appearances on many other TV shows. Ritch wrote material for Jeff Foxworthy’s Grammy nominated comedy albums, “Totally Committed,” and “Big Fun.”
