There's too much and not enough going on in the world right now. Well, at least in Matt-Man and Jayman's worlds. So, Matt and Jay are just hanging out shootin' the breeze and talking about whatever they think of this week. Maybe they'll touch on politics or sports or pop culture or just do some navel gazing. Who knows? One thing we do know is it will be funny. Probably.
April is National Poetry Month so there will be some rhyming going on and maybe even some hot haiku action! You just never know with these two talented and irreverent guys. Matt and Jay are obsessed with so many things yet they are very easily distracted. You have to pay close attention or you'll get lost trying to keep up wtih them.
There might be some trips down memory lane too. Matt and Jay and the gang might revisit some old ideas like "The Third Person Show" or maybe "The NPR Show." Or maybe they won't! That's just how wacky those two are! There will also be bad songs of the week and a discussion about Jayman's sudden love of punk rock and Frank Zappa.
Canadian Bureau Chief Jamie Mapleleaf and the IWS Players will be along to help entertain the masses. They've got a blank canvas this week and I know you can't wait to see what these artists paint this week. We know it won't be a boring old landscape and there won't be any happy little accidents! Plus they'll be taking your calls! The phone lines are always open at 661.244.9852!
Bobby Montoya wanted to join the Girl Scouts, setting off a national debate.
The Girl Scout cookie can't seem to catch a break.
Under fire in years past for including trans fats, high fructose corn syrup and palm oil in its cookies, the Girl Scouts' current cookie selling season is under fire because of policies that have nothing to do with the actual composition of the cookies.
A group calling itselfHonestGirlScouts.com has posted a YouTube video calling for a boycott of Girl Scout cookies in response to a Colorado troop's decision to allow a 7-year-old transgender child into its troop. Gay rights and transgender rights groups have reported a grassroots LGBT movement of supporters buying Girl Scout cookies in response to the video.
"I've decided to purchase as many boxes as my modest budget will allow and donate them to the local LGBTQ community center," says Mara Morken, a lesbian stay-at-home mom in Fargo, North Dakota. "I want to show support for GSUSA in their honorable decision to allow all girls to participate in their programs. However I do not want that support to show itself on my thighs, so I will donate the entire cookie order!" &More fallout with Bruce jenner Plus Box Office.

Country music is a soundtrack of the south. With the artistry of vocalist and songwriter Amanda Lamb, the compass points to Southern California and the sun swept shores of Orange County. Amanda’s new single, “We Were Here,” is an invitation to a coastline drive and an exuberant nod to her West coast roots. Her wistful “Endless Summer” evokes a vivid panorama of rusted Woodies, shivering palm trees, abandoned surfboards and deserted cottages. “Somewhere the surf’s always up,” confirms this California girl.
Recorded in Nashville by eminent producer Kent Wells (noted for recent work with Dolly Parton) the tracks feature a skillful collective of Music City players supporting Amanda’s warm, confiding voice. Amanda sang live in the studio, bouncing her musical ideas off of enthusiastic players employing organic instruments. “I just love the vibe,” she says of the famous musical community, “Nashville has such an appreciation for original music.”
Working with accomplished collaborators Bill Diluigi and Melissa Bollea boosted Amanda’s confidence as a songwriter. She says that her lyrical mission is “To take a cliché that you hear everyday and twist it to make it personal and universal at the same time.”
Amanda Lamb discloses powerful truths in the song “Something in the Blood,” her personal homage to all of the inspirational people she has met who are living their lives with Type 1 diabetes, a condition that has been part of her reality since she was one year old. “The song is both literal and figurative,” says Amanda, “because there is strength, bravery and courage in my blood.”
