Hour one: Losing The Signal. Sean Silcoff, Journalist for the Globe and Mail.
Losing the Signal is a riveting story of a company that toppled global giants before succumbing to the ruthlessly competitive forces of Silicon Valley. This is not a conventional tale of modern business failure by fraud and greed.
Hour two: MHOX. Filippo Nassetti, MHOX partner and lead designer, Communication manager.
MHOX is a product design studio. They work with companies and brands to innovate their products and communication, providing services of industrial design, product communication, research and development. MHOX began as a research group focusing on generative design and 3D printing technologies for the design of innovative wearable products, and evolved into a more general design consultancy. Since 2012 they deliver both disruptive concepts and commercial products for the fashion and medical industry, from masks to prostheses, fashion accessories to orthoses, bracelets to EYEs. A reflection on the human body, its symbiosis with technology, its evolution in possible futures is central to MHOX work. Wearable products are body extensions, objects or systems that integrate the human body to mutate its aesthetic and functional potential, and this concept is constantly brought to its limit.

Fallen Acres: A Girl's Voyage Beyond Life Without Her Parents ~
When You Face Your Greatest Fears, You Find Your Truest Self... The Elliotts are a typical American family: they look content and functional to outsiders, but really, they’re navigating difficult family dynamics. Two introverted parents with passionate feelings who have learned to master and subvert their anger find themselves confronted by a drama-fueled oldest daughter, and a self-absorbed middle daughter. The author, their youngest daughter, tries as hard as she can to be the perfect child—she doesn’t cause trouble, she stays away from angry scenes. But the repression that makes her passive and avoidant causes her reckless nature to come out in other ways…in a series of bad decisions that lead her, at the age of 40, to a place where she is determined to do the right thing for her parents during their late-life crisis. Her story is one of heartache, loss, lessons learned, truths uncovered. It’s about the ways in which God and fate intervene to show us what we’re made of. It’s a powerful testament to the need for compassion and realism with aging parents and end-of-life issues. But most of all, it’s a story of identity and redemption—and how one girl ran away from her hurtful family issues only to find that immersing herself back into her family’s world was the way to claim who she really was. Lyrical, honest, and vivid, Fallen Acres is a memoir both deeply relatable and profoundly valuable.

Remapping Your Mind: The Neuroscience of Self-Transformation through Story - Dr. Lewis Mehl-Madrona & Barbara Mainguy. We are born into a world of stories that quickly shapes our behavior and development without our conscious awareness. By retelling our personal, family, and cultural narratives we can transform the patterns of our own lives as well as the patterns that shape our communities and the larger social worlds in which we interact. They detail mind-mapping and narrative therapy techniques that use story to change behavior patterns in ourselves, relationships, communities, explore studies that reveal how memory works through story, how the brain recalls things in narrative rather than lists, and how our stories modify our physiology and facilitate health or disease. Drawing on their decades of experience in narrative therapy, the authors examine the art of helping people to change their story, providing brain-mapping practices to discover your inner storyteller and test if the stories you are living are functional or dysfunctional, healing or destructive.
