LOTL The Comfort Zone Presents Van Hunt. New CD' The Fun Rises, TheFun Sets

    in Music

Van Hunt, the Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/producer has announced his fifth studio album The Fun Rises, TheFun Sets to be released May 5th via Nashville-based Thirty Tigers and Hunt's own label godless-hotspot. Like its predecessor - 2011's What Were You Hoping For?, which The New York Times hailed as "ambitious and exciting" - The Fun Rises, The FunSets is enticingly adventurous. Of the album Van Hunt states: ""The drive to create something new and different is what keeps me excited and engaged as an artist. It's the thrill of appearing with The Afghan Whigs at Coachella and then performing at a gospel quartet music special all in the same week. The excitement is in constantly evolving as an artist. It's how I got from my first album,Van Hunt (alternative soul, electro-funk music influenced by Prince and The Ohio Players), to my last album What Were You Hoping For?, which was Bowie-influenced, progressive rock and soul." Full of African rhythms, blues and funk, the new album is full of contemporary components often found in the music of St. Vincent, James Blake, Dev Hynes and FKA Twigs. "It is the history of Black- American music filtered through modern technology," explains Hunt.

Today you can hear the first single off the album "Vega (stripes on)," a percolating, lusty track that simmers with jangly Howlin' Wolf-style guitars closed with a short rhyme reminiscent of early Raekwon. Pre-order the album now and check out the track above.

    Doing Less

    in Business

    Doing Less

Many people think productivity is how to do more. Well what if it was actually about doing less. I work with many business owners who are so deep in the trenches of their business not only did they forget about why they got into the business in the first place. They are NOT having fun anymore because they are a slave to their business. We are not machines so we have to look at productivity differently. At the end of the day, I believe Productivity is a feeling. Do we feel like we made a difference by doing the most important things, the things that really matter to us, to we feel at peace and balanced. Today we will explore how to be productive doing less.

    Todays Guest: Ari Meisel

Ari turned a hobby of productivity into a popular framework and consulting service for optimizing, automating and outsourcing of of life’s tasks. Less Doing, More Living continues to grow in popularity and has become a platform for general efficiency consulting to businesses, entrepreneurs and everyone else who could use a little more time in their life. His Achievement Architecture coaching program helps individuals and teams overcome challenges and be more effective. In 2007, Ari was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s is an incurable disease of the digestive tract. Ari’s case was severe, and required over a dozen daily medications and several hospital visits.  Through a combination of yoga, nutrition, natural supplements and rigorous exercise he was able to fight back the symptoms of Crohn’s until he was finally able to suspend his medication. Eventually Ari was declared free of all traces of the ‘incurable’ disease, and competed in Ironman France in June of 2011. Ari has since spoken at seminars and at a regional TED Talk about his struggle against a seemingly insurmountable opposition.
