    HANSHI FRANK DUX

    in Self Help

Frank Dux is a name that became so world renowned in the underground fight world that it had to be immortalized by the 1988 motion picture entitled Bloodsport. The film was based upon his early life achievements and was responsible for launching the acting career of Jean-Claude Van Damme. It is a globally popular cult classic attributed to the inspiring story of Frank Dux. It implemented a new, realistic fight choreography that many Hollywood film makers adopted and use today.

A third generation descendant of intelligence agents and covert operatives, Frank Dux possessed the network, technical knowledge and experience to have built a highly distinguished reputation for himself as an independent contract agent by successfully completing what many intelligence agencies and film aficionados describe as Mission Impossible.

From 1975 through 1980, Frank Dux honed his personal protection skills to the point it transformed him into the truly first Ultimate Fighting Champion, reigning as Kokuryukai World Full Contact Kumite Champion; retiring undefeated and having establishing 16 world records, many of which have been standing for over a quarter of a century. As a result, Frank got Inducted into five Martial Arts Halls of Fame as a “Living Legend.”

Frank Dux coached and produced 25 regional, national and world champions in Full Contact Martial Arts. His last world record occurred in April of 1993, when after a thirteen year hiatus and retirement, with 40,000 spectators and millions watching the telecast, Frank Dux became the first and only human being to punch through bullet proof glass at the International Martial Arts Festival at Bercy Stadium, Paris, France.

    Mandala Art Meditation: Tenacity

    in Self Help

For the first 70+ shows of the Mandala Art Meditations, I pick a different card from the Tarot as the basis of our meditation.

    THIS EPISODE

    The Chariot: Tenacity

    THE SHOW FORMAT

    welcoming message

    brief instructions

    guided meditation

    closing message

    PREPARATION

If you want to participate in the meditation and create a mandala, prior to the show

set up a quiet space for the meditation and to do create the mandala

have a piece of paper ready and draw a circle on it

have your coloring/drawing tools ready (color pencils, crayons, pens, markers, etc.)

If you want to do the meditation only, then just set up a quiet space for yourself

    AFTER THE MEDITATION

After the show, if you plan to create a mandala of your experience

allow yourself to be in the meditative state for a few moments, recapturing any images, thoughts, sensations, feelings, etc.

when you're ready, go to your paper and coloring tools and create the essence of what you experienced. let go of feeling like you have to draw or color it perfectly.

allow yourself to just go with the flow of it, the essence of it. when we allow ourselves to fully embrace our creative spirit, the insights come.

feel free to draw/color outside the circle, whatever feels appropriate.

when done, write down any insights in a journal or directly on the mandala
