The Helios Biblios Hour (the book of the Sun) George Orwell 1984 you' living it.

    in Current Events

I must say I believe, or fear, that taking the world as a whole these things are on the increase. Hitler, no doubt, will soon disappear, but only at the expense of strengthening (a) Stalin, (b) the Anglo-American millionaires and (c) all sorts of petty fuhrers° of the type of de Gaulle. All the national movements everywhere, even those that originate in resistance to German domination, seem to take non-democratic forms, to group themselves round some superhuman fuhrer (Hitler, Stalin, Salazar, Franco, Gandhi, De Valera are all varying examples) and to adopt the theory that the end justifies the means. Everywhere the world movement seems to be in the direction of centralised economies which can be made to ‘work’ in an economic sense but which are not democratically organised and which tend to establish a caste system. With this go the horrors of emotional nationalism and a tendency to disbelieve in the existence of objective truth because all the facts have to fit in with the words and prophecies of some infallible fuhrer. Already history has in a sense ceased to exist, ie. there is no such thing as a history of our own times which could be universally accepted, and the exact sciences are endangered as soon as military necessity ceases to keep people up to the mark. Hitler can say that the Jews started the war, and if he survives that will become official history. He can’t say that two and two are five, because for the purposes of, say, ballistics they have to make four. But if the sort of world that I am afraid of arrives, a world of two or three great superstates which are unable to conquer one another, two and two could become five if the fuhrer wished it.1 That, so far as I can see, is the direction in which we are actually moving, though, of course, the process is reversible

Professor David Stone Author of The Russian Army in the Great War

    in Education

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview David Stone.

A full century later, our picture of World War I remains one of wholesale, pointless slaughter in the trenches of the Western front. Expanding our focus to the Eastern front, as David R. Stone does in this masterly work, fundamentally alters—and clarifies—that picture. A thorough, and thoroughly readable, history of the Russian front during the First World War, this book corrects widespread misperceptions of the Russian Army and the war in the east even as it deepens and extends our understanding of the broader conflict.

Of the four empires at war by the end of 1914—the Austro-Hungarian, Ottoman, German, and Russian—none survived. But specific political, social, and economic weaknesses shaped the way Russia collapsed and returned as a radically new Soviet regime. It is this context that Stone's work provides, that gives readers a more judicious view of Russia's war on the home front as well as on the front lines. One key and fateful difference in the Russian experience emerges here: its failure to systematically and comprehensively reorganize its society for war, while the three westernmost powers embarked on programs of total mobilization.

    Enlighten Families About Prayer

    in Prayer

The purpose of prayer is to enlighten people about how the Four Gospels can make your life a lot easier.  The only way families can change is to do what they read in The Bible on a daily basis.  God never said Christians would not experience storms.  He provided His word to keep us at peace.  Matthew 6:33 is very important because we are expected to seek God first in all that we do in life.

    Lakota Heart -N- Soul

    in Spirituality

The topics of this show are based on Lakota Star Knowledge and may include viewing current events from the Ancient Lakota perspective. This show's objective is perpetuate peace among all people, as the foundation of all universes is based on "Mitakuye Oyas'in". The Lakota Star Knowledge definition of "Mitakuye Oyas'in" is that before you can be at peace with all the relatives throughout all universes, you must first have peace among all the relatives within your own inner universe. The mind, body, soul and emotions are all connected to each other. When you do your best in nurturing these four parts, you will establish peace within yourself. Only then are you able to be at peace with all creation around you.

WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

Here is an article taken from a News paper coming out of South Africa Yesterday. "Shackled, four men who allegedly stabbed Emmanuel Sithole to death at the weekend smiled at their loved ones, even sharing a joke, as they were led to the holding cells of Johannesburg's Alexandra Magistrate's Court.

"They were laughing just like that as they walked away from killing my brother," wept Sithole's sister Thando Sithole.

"They hunted him down like a dog. They killed him like a dog in the street. And now they laugh.''

Speaking after Mthinto Bhengu, Sizwe Mngomezulu, Ayanda Sibiya and Sifundi Mzimela appeared in court, Thando Sithole was unable to contain her rage.

"We want justice. We want them to get life. They must get life for taking a life. They must never taste freedom again."

Sithole's younger sister, Jordina Masia, who was with Emmanuel when he was attacked, said she had pleaded with the men not to hurt him. "I begged. I cried. I asked them not to. They killed him because when they took his cigarettes without paying, Emmanuel confronted them, demanding payment. Just like that they killed him."

A series of photographs in the Sunday Times chronicling the Mozambican trader's murder in Alexandra on Saturday continues to enrage South Africans.

That rage, compounded by Monday night's shooting of a Zimbabwean couple in Alexandra, prompted the government to deploy hundreds of troops to the township and other xenophobia flashpoints, including in KwaZulu-Natal.

Late last night, about 400 police, supported by heavily armed infantry soldiers in armoured vehicles, shut down large sections of Jeppestown, Johannesburg." With the greatest of scrutiny and disbelief I am watching as the Fall of African Unity begins
