TONIGHT 9PM- The feet and hands contain more sweat glands than any other part of the body, with roughly 3,000 glands per square inch. Smelly feet are not only embarrassing, but can be physically uncomfortable as well. Feet smell for two reasons: 1) shoe wear, and 2) sweating of the feet. The interaction between the perspiration and the bacteria that thrive in shoes and socks generates the odor. Therefore, any attempt to reduce foot odor has to address both sweating and footwear. If you or someone you sleep with possess smelly feet we have some tips you can use. Call us and share your story. LIVE! Dial 917-889-3926 with a comment or question. We want to hear from you. Dr Sepi Zandi of Zandi Chiropractic joins us with RL Smith - President of Flatirons Running - to discuss how having the chiropractic office located in the running store has been beneficial for both businesses.
Flatirons Running is a full-service specialty running store located in the Table Mesa Shopping Center of one of the nations most influential running communities, Boulder, CO. The business began its inception in 2009 being called In-Step. Family-owned by RL Smith and Tricia Vieth, In-Step offered a unique and personalized experience for the runner, focusing on the world famous custom insoles built by RL. RL has become known as the Foot Whisperer to many of his clientele with his impeccable ability to diagnose foot issues and resolve aches and pains with his ‘built on location’ custom insoles, tagged with years of experience in the running and cycling arena.
In 2014, RL and Tricia were approached by Henry and Suzanne Guzman with an offer that could only extend the services to our community. With years of experience as the buyer for another running store in town, Henry came to the table with connections in the industry, extensive experience in the running world as both an athlete and a coach and a knack for knowing what the runner needs and wants which has since outfitted the newly rebranded store, now known as Flatirons Running, to be a true full-service running store.
The combination of a full line of footwear, apparel, accessories, hydration and nutritionals, along with the custom insoles by RL, this is a store that you must visit to find exactly what you need to either get started, stay on track and stay healthy as a runner/walker/hiker!

Angelina Jolie wears them. So does Laura Bush. And Cate Blanchett and Gwen Stefani. And it was Oprah’s endorsement that really launched Taryn Rose Shoes, a footwear line that marries style with great comfort. This concept was possible due to the company owner’s unique combination of qualifications: she’s an orthopedic surgeon who loves shoes. The company insists these are not “orthopedic” shoes, but stylish products made with high-quality materials designed for maximum comfort.
When she was doing her residency in the 1990s, Dr. Taryn Rose loved to wear fashionable shoes to the hospital, but found, not surprisingly, that 14-hour shifts in high heels can be problematic. She was also seeing many female patients with similar issues as they tried to reconcile their desire to be both chic and comfortable.
When asked about risk she said, “I’d rather live with failure than regret…Failure you can deal with, regret you can’t change, because it’s too late.”
Taryn attended grammar school in Arkansas, but they had moved to Southern California by the time she got to high school. She attended UC Irvine and then USC School of Medicine.
In early 2008, Rose resigned from the company, however since June 2010, she’s been back as Taryn Rose Holding LLC. This time around, there are various lines of shoes with different distribution channels and price points to appeal to different segments of the market. This is when I met Taryn while working with a principle who was interning for Taryn in Los Angeles.
This show is going to be FUN! Please post, tweet and share this page with all your friends! Especially those who wear shoes!!! :)
Jacob (Jake) is a sports journalist, founder and senior staff writer for BestCoastBaseball.com. Jake has covered west coast baseball for three years. For a good majority of that time, he was writing at Mariners360 and GetReal Baseball. When he isn't writing articles, he can be found at any given MiLB or NCAA/NWAACC ballpark in the Pacific Northwest, or watching his fantasy baseball team lose. Again.
What you would never know is that Jake is a high school senior and spent the first 7 years of his life growing up in the hospital. Now he wears oxygen all the time due to his lung disease, had secondary major depression and social anxiety from the years of illness. Yet he's articulate, funny, creating a solid baseball online publication and succeeding beyond most measures. A real inspiration.
Co-hosting again during sports week is Jessica Jensen As someone who is passionate about preserving foot health, Jessica would like to implement a standardized system where athletes are measured for footwear, and taught to select footwear based on their unique foot shape. Full time crusader, educator, and baseball fan;Jessica wants everyone to receive the benefits of a footwear system that has been engineered by the people who know what feels best on their feet.
If you know nothing about the sport of baseball- Gail asks the questions others are afraid to: the difference between front of house and field manager, building a team with constant trading, college versus minor leagues. Together, the three of us find ways that baseball can bring back fans in a real way.
