Did you enjoy your summer? Living and lounging by the beach in Monmouth County might make you forget about others in our area who are desperately in need and feeling the pangs of hunger. Summer is a season of hunger for children who don't receive the food they normally receive during the school year. One in every ten people in Monmouth and Ocean Counties receive emergency food from the FoodBank’s network of pantries, soup kitchens and other agencies. The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties teamed-up with Sabrett and WindMill Hot Dogs to raise money to provide food for those in our communities who don’t have enough to eat. The 10,000 Hot Dog campaign ran through Labor Day. Each $5.00 donation would deliver 15 meals and hope to struggling families. Additionally, Sabrett matched contributions to the project, donating up to 10,000 hot dogs. The fundraiser kicked off right before Memorial Day with Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes playing a concert on the roof deck of the WindMill in West End. The 10,000 Hot Dog campaign ended Labor Day. In this follow-up visit with Rena Levine Levy of the Windmill and Peter Grote of the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, we’ll get the results of this ambitious campaign and learn more about other initiatives from the Foodbank to eradicate hunger in our area. After the interview, please visit After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more information.
For those of us living in eastern Monmouth County, we are well aware that we live in a summer vacation destination. But in the words of Rena Levine-Levy of The WindMill, “Hunger doesn't take a vacation.” Summer is a season of hunger for children who do not receive the food they normally receive during the school year. One in every ten people in Monmouth and Ocean Counties receive emergency food from the FoodBank’s network of pantries, soup kitchens and other agencies. The FoodBank served 51,000 children with emergency food in 2010, compared with about 19,000 in 2005. We explore the stats of police shooting in the US. Read an except of a book
Confessions of a Police Officer
African-Americans were arrested at some of the highest rates in the country in Monmouth and Ocean counties, according to a review of FBI records.
The statistics for 2011-2012 show that in several Shore communities, blacks accounted for up to 44 percent of arrests in towns where the black population was less than 15 percent of total residents, according to the FBI data compiled by USA Today. Of the 19 local police departments that self-reported their arrest numbers to the FBI, the biggest disparities were seen at the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department and the Wall police department in Monmouth, and the Lakewood police department in Ocean. Is your state or city on this map? We will find out.
The United States has always prided itself in proclaiming that we are a nation that was built on Christian values. Yet, upon closer observation, true Christian values include a variety of things that we have historically and currently have failed to live up to. Historically, we established this nation by virtually annihilating the Native Americans who had settled here many thousands of years before the Europeans sailed the mighty Atlantic Ocean. The honored Founding Fathers who fought and died for liberty and justice for all men, owned slaves, got rich from the African slave trade and reduced those of African descent to being mere chattel, not recognized as being even human, but rather animals. The Chinese were treated as slave laborers during the building of the transatlantic railroad and American-Japanese were imprisoned as enemies of the state in internment camps, during World War II.
Currently, the war on poverty has become the war against the impoverished. Immoral lifestyles are being supported and viewed as an alternative. The disabled, senior citizens and others that are considered outside of what society defines as being viable and contribulatory are treated as second class citizens. Then there is the question of immigration. Oddly, this issue is a hotbed one, even though every citizen that makes up this country is a descendant of an immigrant. We are came off of a ship, boat or dingy.
So, when we say, Christian values, exactly what do we mean? We will be looking at St. Matthew 25: 34-40, Hebrews 13:1-3, Acts 4:32,34, 1 John 3: 16-18, and 1 John 4:20-21.

How do we build the future surface fleet to ensure our forces maintain the ability to access to all regions of the world's oceans that our vital to our national interests?
Our guest to discuss this and the broader issues related to our surface forces will be Bryan Clark, Senior Fellow at Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA).
A basis for our conversation will be his recent study for CSBA, Commanding the Seas: A Plan to reinvigorate U.S. Navy Surface Warfare, where he articulates the operational concept of “offensive sea control” as the new central idea to guide evolution of the U.S. surface force. This idea would refocus large and small surface combatant configuration, payloads and employment on sustaining the surface force’s ability to take and hold areas of ocean by destroying threats to access such as aircraft, ships and submarines rather than simply defending against their missiles and torpedoes.
Prior to joining CSBA in 2013, Bryan Clark was Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations and Director of his Commander’s Action Group.
He served in the Navy headquarters staff from 2004 to 2011, leading studies in the Assessment Division and participating in the 2006 and 2010 Quadrennial Defense Reviews. His areas of emphasis were modeling and simulation, strategic planning and institutional reform and governance. Prior to retiring from the Navy in 2007, he was an enlisted and officer submariner, serving in afloat and ashore including tours as Chief Engineer and Operations Officer at the Navy’s nuclear power training unit.
Mr. Clark holds a Master of Science in National Security Studies from the National War College and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Philosophy from the University of Idaho.

Tonight's special guest is Brittney Bray, a returning NAASCA family member from New Jersey. A survivor of child abuse who was removed from her family as a teen, she was eventually able to take advantage of the CASA SHaW facility in Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties, and is now enjoying life in recovery. At the age of 15 she was taken away from her family due to her parents' drug abuse and her father's physical abuse towards her. She experienced about 8 different placements from the age of 15 till the age of 16. She was involved with many organizations, including the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). At the age of 17 she had her first child. At 18 she married the baby's father and became independent. After her son was born, she was faced with opposition from the child welfare system which did not believe she could succeed as a mother. CASA SHaW was there to support and defend her, helping her to retain custody of her baby. Brittney says, "I have tried to make the best from my difficult past. I am thankful to CASA for continuing to be supportive to me. Today I am 23, I live in my own home, I have 2 healthy and happy children, and I have been happily married for 5 years. I work, and I am planning to go back to school. My parents are in my life, and the relationship I have with them is stronger than ever now. We've all made it to the other side of a bad time."
I feel compelled to share my visions regarding my preidcitions for 2014. I made a prediction video on http://youtube.com/mia0899cs and I am starting to see some of them already occur. One was a major virus which I said would occur around March. I saw gurneys with people in the hallways of the ER as the entire hospital team was running around to help these people. The triage nurses had to send patients to other hospitals as there was no more room. Then I recently heard on Friday that there has been deaths due to a Mystery Virus in CA which presents like polio. It's first symptoms are just respiratory and then there is weakness in the limbs.
I also checked the status of H1N1 in PA from the CDC and there has been many deaths linked to this virus. Many people feel they are immuned from it as H1N1 is included in the flu vaccine. I will tell you what is going on with that. Are you actually safer with the flu vaccine?
I talked about Fema Zone 3 and the 15,000 Russian troops deployed to this area. President Obama actually said that it was due to an impending natural disaster as well as former Homeland Department Director, Janet Napolitano.
How do you know there is going to be a natural disaster? I also will share what others shared with me in their comments. One girl felt there is going to be a Tsunami occurring in the Atlantic Ocean.
I will also answer a psychic question that you have.
If you would like to contact me for a reading, please go to Kasamba and type in psychic name Mia0899cs. I will give you a detailed reading for $20.00. I normally charge $30.00.
I am also available by phone and my status is always online at Kasamba. I will take your call at anytime.
