On May 27, my guest will be Christopher Kogler he founder and CEO of NarrativeIQ. Chris mentors some of the world’s top business leaders helping them discover & tell strategic business stories that inspire their employees and customers to action. Leaders’ strategies don’t just spring to life, they stick.
Early in his career Chris worked in television as the Creative Director for New York City’s world class cultural institution, Thirteen/WNET. During his 16 award-winning years at WNET, he developed his love of stories and his storytelling skills garnered 5 Emmy Awards and numerous international kudos. Clients included GE, GM, ABC and HBO.
In 2006, he founded STI Consulting. His goal was to build on his TV storytelling experience and work with companies changing the world. In 8 years, he has spearheaded change management initiatives, helped create a web design agency, led a state recognized business incubator & counseled clean tech entrepreneurs in such diverse areas as smart grid technology, food waste recycling & tidal energy. He enjoys helping companies succeed by teaching them how to discover and narrate their unique value proposition.
Today, he’s building upon this work and his love of storytelling by partnering with the international consulting firm, Anecdote, and incorporating their outstanding 6 month programs, Storytelling for Leaders and Storytelling for Sales, into his consulting practice. These programs help leaders in large and small organizations develop their story skills so they can effectively inspire and engage their troops to take action. In the process, their personal business stories humanize the corporation.
What kind of food do you eat? Are you super healthy? Would you like the possibility of being so?
We all know we're all unique. We also are made of the same stuff in terms of energy, Light, atoms, and the like, yet some people spur themselves on while others linger about. This can be explained by soul age, conditioning, astrology, background, consciousness, and so many other factors.
Let's also take a look at food intake and how that affects us, plus our global addiction to doing things however we do them, whether this method supports us or not. What are any of us afraid of? How do we deal with that disquiet? How can you benefit?
Ann Dunwoody became the U.S. Army’s first female four-star general. She commanded over 69,000 people and an annual budget of $60 billion. She was in charge of the the army’s total global supply chain. Her new book, “A Higher Standard”, talks about her years of service, her pride for the army, and her principles for leadership. She is a delightful person and this is a friendly conversation but she identifies serious problems in military procurement. She expresses the United States has a serious and growing national security problem because of our inadequate industrial base. She is also concerned about the waste in procurement and tracking army purchases. She had to step over command to bring modern tracking systems to the military. One of the first projects to tackle was the “iron mountain” – the term for 40,000 shipping containers in Iraq that the military didn’t even know what was inside. General Dunwoody also talks about the ethics crisis in the military where hubris and entitlement attitudes are affecting military integrity. She also talks about how the military could save money if Congress was less erratic, how one-year of public service for all eighteen to twenty-eight year old Americans would serve them well and serve the nation well, and how undeclared wars are difficult for our democracy and our military. The Tim Danahey Show discusses economics, government, social issues, history, and non-fiction books in a magazine format featuring in-depth conversations with guests. Politics and inflammatory conversations are discouraged as they are divisive and counter-productive. Instead, the show seeks under-reported topics and delves into facts, different perspectives, and ramifications of each perspective. The show does not espouse a political agenda. Danahey’s strength is to take complex subjects, talk with experts and make them comprehensible and entertaining for average listeners.
