    in Entertainment

Nigerian Actress, Writer, TV Personality, Talk Radio Host, Speaker, Author, Self-help Mentor & Founder of THE NAKED MOVEMENT, She is also an Advocate for EXPRESSION and a Multi-Platform Ambassador for Self Empowerment & Transformation -Spending her days building her purpose, promoting expression and empowering minds globally. Like many people, She didn't know anything about living a healthy life of purpose and awareness until recently (and she's still learning every day) to bridge the illusory gap between EXPRESSION and CONSCIOUSNESS. After a series of traumatic relationships and a failed marriage, she sought solace in her writing. What started as therapy grew to become a vision and a MOVEMENT (The Naked Movement). And being 'NAKED' means she's comfortable with stripping the lies, living in TRUTH and embracing a 'Presence of Mind'. She decided to keep things real and tell it like it is.

Aretha, Girl Groups and the Sound of Soul in America on HLT0

    in Music

    Hosted by Sade' and Knowledge

On Hotwordz Lyrical Theatre0, The ‘Classical Soul’ show with Sade’ and Knowledge will feature the sounds of Aretha Franklin & The Girl Groups of Soul in America from the 60’s era. What do you know about Martha Reeves and the Vandellas? What do you know about background singers like Lois Reeves who played a major part in the Vandellas music industry story? Another girl group as they were called, shined a little light on Edna Wright and The Blossoms. The Blossoms were one of the premium female backing vocal groups during the 60s and 70s and existed in many versions under many pseudonyms. Familiar artists that came and went include Edna Wright, Gloria Jones and Merry Clayton.  Aretha Franklin stood the test of time in the young Motown music industry and today, she remains recognized as a high profile ‘Soul Singer’. HLT0 will focus a little bit on the lost girl groups of soul and the inspiration behind some of these great acts from the legend of Motown.

Lametria Marable is at Centertainment Studio "live" Tonight (Fri) @ 7pm CST

    in Christianity

Lametria, an excellent example of a motivated member of the younger generation...single mother, student, singer, and songwriter, she wears these hats simultaneously. Strength and determination has brought her to this place she stands now and despite an equal share of successes and failures, Lametria is a testimony. The testimony that the young generation needs to hear is that having faith and believing in yourself will lead to the fulfillment of all your dreams.  Lametria was born in the "Music City" of Nashville where the city itself seems to breathe the sound of music and is known worldwide for being the home of some of the world's greatest artists. She was born premature with a birth defect called Esophageal Atresia. Doctors told her parents that she wouldn't be able to talk and that she would be on a feeding tube for the rest of her life and mentally disabled with the lifespan of progressing only to the age of twelve. Before she was a week old she had three major surgeries and then two more major surgeries after that. By the time she reached three years of age her surgeries were finalized and she began to live life normally. Still overcoming obstacles, it was then noticed by her family that Lametria had a gift. A gift to perform, a passion to sing, and a God given musical ear. God saw fit to intervene and Lametria thrived as she grew up in Clarksville, TN. At the age of three Lametria began singing and humming the songs of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Tina Turner; she often showcased her singing skills in front of family and friends. Her ultimate stage was standing before church congregations belting out old gospel songs that stirred the soul.

Join us "LIVE" tonight on Blogtalk and at the new Centertainment Studios in Bedford, TX. Call in at 323-693-3830 and press "1", or call our studio at 214-704-3825.

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1285

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Linda Dueling from Omaha, Nebraska, a child abuse survivor and active NAASCA volunteer family member. Linda was sexually abused and eventually raped by her Grandpa. This went on until she was about 8 years old. Later, at 12, she would 'fall in love' with a 20 year old who introduced her to IV drugs. At 15 she ended up living on the streets with a boy and they were eventually arrested for 'breaking and entering' when they tried to find shelter. He was sent to Juvenile Hall, but Linda was released to her mother. "Mom slapped and hit me the whole walk home about 12 blocks." She ran away again and experienced a horrible gang rape by a group of 'friends'. Linda says. "I know GOD saved me that night." Linda began using drugs again and meet a boy who would become her husband. "He began hitting me within months," Linda says. "I was beaten daily." It took nearly 2 decades before she joined a church and got clean. For a while things got better. She earned a Certificate in Counseling for Addiction. She built businesses and was seen as a 'success'. "I had over come my addiction and my marriage was now 'healthy' by everyone's standards. Yet I felt dead." In 2008 she tried to take her life. "I was held at the hospital for almost a month. When I left I went into Intensive Outpatient Therapy 5 days a week, four hours a day." In 2010 she'd had enough. "I left for a business trip and never returned home." Her life has improved but she knows she still has a long way to go. She pushes on "Telling this side of my story with out protecting anyone in the process is a new journey."
